CLYDE BEATTY-ONE OF THE GREATEST ANIMAL TRAINERS OF ALL TIME, WHO STARTED TRAINING BEARS, THEN MIXED LIONS AND TIGERS, AND WITNESSED MANY FIGHTS IN HIS CAREER, SAID “A BEAR OR A LION WILL WHIP A TIGER 9 OUT OF 10 TIMES."

The Works of Theodore Roosevelt - volume 4 of 14.
How the prowess of the grisly compares with that of the lion or tiger would be hard to say; I have never shot rather of the latter myself, and my brother, who has killed tigers in India, has never had a chance at a grisly. Any one of the big bears we killed on the mountains would, I should think, have been able to make short work of either a lion or a tiger; for the grisly is greatly superior in bulk and muscular power to either of the great cats, and its teeth are as large as theirs, while its claws, though blunter, are much longer; never-the-less, I believe that a lion or a tiger would be fully as dangerous to a hunter or other human being, on account of the superior speed of its charge, the lighting-like rapidity of its movements, and its apparently sharper senses. Still,, after all id said, the man should have a thoroughly trustworthy weapon and a fairly cool head who would follow into his own haunts and slay Old Ephraim.
The above is quoted by Teddy Roosevelt in his early years, before traveling abroad. After experiencing lion hunting in Africa, TR made this statement: Teddy Roosevelt once stated that a stripped carcass of a grizzly bear is far more robust than the same of a lion. The bear is just more powerfully and larger built.

"When accidents happen, when strange animals are placed together and a fight starts, always try to protect the weaker animal, regardless of his species. You will hear it said that a tiger can kill a lion, or vice versa. In my experience i have seen all theories exploded. Tigers have killed lions, lions have killed polar bears, a small leopard has killed a large tiger. usually a polar bear can kill any of the big cats, but i have seen a lion kill a polar bear", Louis Roth, forty years with jungle killers, page 204-205.

According to Louis Roth, even a captive polar bear dominates tigers and lions.

Enlighten me on Louis Roth? This would only be so if they were circus animals and had access to each other I would think. In a Zoo they would obviously be in separate enclosures.

In his book "forty years with jungle killers" he stated this"

Looking through so many "accidental animal fights" from circus, zoo, menagerie, etc. ( 19th century and early 20th century ), I strongly suspect that many - perhaps most - of these fights were deliberately staged.

Why does a president win an election?? Because he was the one to CONVINCE most people correct? That is why he won. So judging by the polls, its obvious that WE are the ones convincing more people. No one takes that kid Mountain Lard seriously, not even the smartest TIGER fans like Peter, Paul Cooper, Amur tiger. That should tell you something.
At WOA, Siberian tiger vs Ussuri brown bear, poll is 13-5 in favour of the brown bear. Since he joined 3 months ago, its 4-0 for the bear, he did not convince ONE person.
Carnivora: siberian tiger vs polar bear, poll 42-11 in favour of the polar bear. (Without words). He was even in this thead at the beggining and what happend? Who did he convince? 42-11!! Lmao.

The CONVINCING of people, this is another huge reason why this debate is over.

How could we had forgotten to post this here in this thread? This is the first opinion that favours bears over tigers that we all have seen when we first enter this debate.

Just another example of why this debate is over. Smart tiger fans admitting the truth.
"I'm the biggest tiger fan you'll find on Carnivora, and it's ridiculous that this matchup has gone so many pages."
"A tiger has no chance against a polar bear or a kodiak."
