But a spectacled bear doesn't have a (noticeable) shoulder hump either so does it really have stronger paw swipes? No. Where did you hear that? It D O E S have a shoulder hump? Im just questioning why the spectacled bear has a stronger paw swipe than the jaguar? (In one of the posts)

No. Where did you hear that? It D O E S have a shoulder hump? Im just questioning why the spectacled bear has a stronger paw swipe than the jaguar? (In one of the posts) One prime reason would be the difference between their respective foot postures. Besides, the deltopectoral crest/humerus length ratio is 64% for the spectacled bear and around 55% for the jaguar.

Neither the jaguar nor any other big cat has a shoulder hump. Even a bear completely lacking a shoulder hump is capable of delivering a more devastating paw-strike than a cat of equal size (HB length parity). Brown bears and the extinct cave bears have/had shoulder humps. Some polar bears appear to have a vestige of a shoulder hump.

I do know no big cat has a shoulder hump as you said before. But the muscles on the jaguars forelimbs seem to outmatch the forelimbs of the funny bear. unless that one hairless Andean bear picture was a small sick young old female weak fat captive bear that also doesn't exist. What is the size of each contestants paws again too?

Actually the short faced bear family are not as robust as the ursine family.
