They're also experts in anatomy and morphology, meaning that's legitimated. Bears have stronger muscles than big cats because, unlike felids who are digitigrade, they're plantigrade meaning they have better limb movements which allow them to use upper body weight. Bears also do activities like rolling rocks, tearing apart logs and digging grounds and the grizzly's hump is a great advantage as it's a muscle that powers forelimbs. Post the study in Bear and Gorilla realm thread of Morphological Studies. I'll let you do it. I'm not familiar with that forum tbh.

If even an Andean bear can beat a jaguar, then a grizzly would stomp. Exactly. But i kinda love the FACT that a grizzly would still possess stronger forelimbs if we hypothetically made the jaguar just as big as the bear.

If even an Andean bear can beat a jaguar, then a grizzly would stomp. Spectacled bear features:- 1. Stamina 2. Stronger claws and swipes 3. More robust body and stronger 4. More stamina and better defenses 5. Better fighting structure (Plantigrade) 5. Size advantage Jaguar features:- 1. Better jaws 2. More agile I my opinion, a spectacled bear wins 8-9/10 times in a fair, head-on fight to death.

I mean, jaguars have a shoulder hump. Big cats don't have humps. Right. We had this discussion long ago in the old (now extinct) AVA. Sometimes, in a broad-side photo, a big cat can appear to have a shoulder hump. But, in reality, those are simply his shoulder blades. Of course, there is some muscle there, but miniscule in comparison to a brown bear's shoulder hump. In a video, with the big cat walking towards the camera, you can clearly see those blades; right one goes up, left one goes down, right one goes down, left one goes up, and so on. The big cat's "shoulder hump" is concave. A healthy adult brown bear's shoulder hump is convex - round. Only a very old or unhealthy brown bear has a concave shoulder hump - a V.

But a spectacled bear doesn't have a (noticeable) shoulder hump either so does it really have stronger paw swipes?
