King Kong 1933 vs King Kong 2005. Or do you prefer another King Kong?

My favorite is still the 1933 classic. The highlight was the battle between T-rex and Kong. From my personal point of view, Kong likely avoided the king of dinosaurs until he fought for Ann Darrow. This was the defining moment when Kong became King Kong. In the big-budget 2005 movie, at first while watching, I thought that this one was really going to outclass the original. Damn! I could even read the emotions in Kong's eyes. But then they got stupid and way over-played all of the action scenes. People running in a dinosaur stampede ( ridiculous ) and the giant bugs which had been there for centuries starving for human flesh. But worst of all was King Kong fighting like Kung Fu Gorilla against a pack of mutated T-rex monsters.

I will return this topic back to it's proper place after the movie is out and the results are in. But, just for fun, if someone with the tech skills will post the polls...

“Godzilla vs. Kong” is on the move — again.
Shortly after Warner Bros. bumped up the film’s release date two months earlier than expected, from May 21 to March 26, the studio has postponed its domestic premiere by another week. Now, “Godzilla vs. Kong” will debut on March 31 simultaneously in movie theaters and on the streaming service HBO Max. The monster mash-up will launch internationally, where HBO Max is not available, ahead of North America on March 26.
As part of the scheduling announcement, Warner Bros. has added James Wan’s horror movie “Malignant” back to the calendar, setting the thriller for Sept. 10.
“Godzilla vs. Kong’s” latest delay was made in response to news that MGM was postponing James Bond sequel “No Time to Die” from April 2 to Oct. 8. Sony’s “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway,” which had also been set for April 2, was delayed to June. With most movies vacating early 2021 release dates, “Godzilla vs. Kong” will open the Wednesday prior to Universal’s action thriller “Nobody” starring Bob Odenkirk.

Would someone with 21st century tech-skills please create a poll for this match-up?

Would someone with 21st century tech-skills please create a poll for this match-up? I know how to make a poll but I am not a staff member unfortunately.

A poll has been added; I am personally rooting for Kong due to him being one of my favourite fictional creatures. Watching the Peter Jackson's version in 2005 (I was a mere 5y old at that time but don't tell my parents...) really opened up the portal to fantasy for me.

I am a fan of both Kong and Godzilla, but lean more towards Kong. As a young kid, I "had dinosaurs on the brain" as it was put in Jurassic Park. I was also a huge fan of the old school gorilla image ( predating Dian Fossey ). I feel like they are wrong in making Kong as tall as Godzilla. The match-up should be more like the Kong vs T-rex battle in the classic 1933 King Kong movie. In other words, if Godzilla stands 400 feet tall, then Kong should stand not much above 300 feet tall.

I voted for Godzilla because of his atomic breath. King Kong is incredibly strong regardless.

Its a sure bet that Kong had to be super-sized for this battle. In the original King Kong movie ( 1933 ), Kong stands roughly 25 feet tall ( according to literature I read from various sources predating computers ). The movie makers were not very good at keeping his proportions accurate throughout the movie though - as compared with various people and objects such as planes and trains. Godzilla, on his original movie ( 1956), his height was stated as being 400 feet tall. Well, if we were to witness a face-off between a 400 foot high radioactive dinosaur-like monster vs a 25 foot tall gorilla-like giant ape.... we would see a very short movie.

I voted for Godzilla because of his atomic breath. King Kong is incredibly strong regardless. Realistically, Godzilla should win ( even at height-parity ) for this very reason. I voted for Kong because of the fact that in this movie; he is the "good guy" and because he is ( slightly ) my favorite of the two.

King Kong is almost as big as Godzilla and might even be slightly taller according to this picture above. At near-equal height.... Kong will defeat Godzilla.

King Kong has greatly increase in height. www.inverse.com/article/17301-new-king-kong-will-be-100-feet-tall-as-monsters-including-godzilla-keep-growing NEW KING KONG WILL BE TALLER, BUT NOT AS TALL AS GODZILLA As part of Warner Bros’ presentation at CineEurope in Barcelona, industry members were given an extended preview at the upcoming Kong: Skull Island, the reboot of the big ape film that stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and Samuel L. Jackson. Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts made a major proclamation about the beast at the center of the film: the new Kong as the largest Kong ever, at 100-feet fall. Which is impressive… until you consider that Kong is slated to fight the bigger and badder Godzilla in Godzilla vs. King Kong in 2020. To give a sense of the size mismatch between the two monsters, here’s a breakdown of King Kong and Godzilla’s height through the ages: KING KONG (1933) - 24 FEET Kong’s height was kind of tricky to pin down from the get-go. Apparently, creator Merian C. Cooper wanted Kong to be 40 to 50-feet tall.. However the animators made the final decision. Kong was eventually scaled and animated to be 18 feet while on Skull Island, and rescaled to 24 feet when taken to New York. The reason for this is unclear, though the advertising material at the time continued to promote Kong at 50-feet. GODZILLA VS. KING KONG (2020) By all estimates, Godzilla dwarfs King Kong in pretty much every way. Even if the new film is set to make King Kong the tallest he’s ever been at 100-feet, that’s still almost 200-feet less than the last Godzilla. Now, anyone can tell you that size doesn’t matter, but in the case of two monsters fighting my money will probably be on the 400-foot nuclear lizard.

screenrant.com/godzilla-kong-size-older-look-differences/ It's been over 45 years since the events of Kong: Skull Island. Here's how the Titan will be different when he returns in Godzilla vs. Kong. He was only 104 feet tall in his first MonsterVerse movie, which was less than a third of Godzilla’s towering height of 393 feet in King of the Monsters. Now, his height is close to even with Godzilla’s. This is without a doubt the biggest change, but not the only one. It would seem that Kong now has a beard of fur on his chin. *Close to even; that just ain't right.
