Five toughest animals in my opinion would be cetaceans in the ocean as they have thick skin and blubber. Their skin is like 10 times thicker and a belugas skin in 100 times thicker than your average land mammal, just immagine how thick the hide of a large whale would be. There is no quick way to kill a whale or dolphin which is why it they suffer a lot when japanese hunters kill them 😠. The next one would be elephants, rhinos, and hippos. They have thick necks and even a pride of lions cannot kill an huge elephant and while rhinos have been killed its not by throat bite bt by evetual death from cuts. Hippos only fall victim to lions if they stray too far from the water and even so, it takes a very long time to kill one. Walrus and elephant seals are tough ones to kill as they fight among each other yet death is rare due to their thick hide and blubber which protects their neck. Bears are next in line as they have necks that are hard to bite through and the weasel family has thick lose skin as well. While bears and felines can kill boars, there is no quick way to kill an animal with not neck. To kill a warthog a leopard has to make it bleed to death by biting its chest instead of using the traditional stragulation method. Brute strength, what are some of your bold statements on bears?

Great list Bjorn. I agree with your list.I think crocodiles, wolverines, badgers, and wolves are tough as well. Explain what you need by bold statements on bears?

Great list Bjorn. I agree with your list.I think crocodiles, wolverines, badgers, and wolves are tough as well. Explain what you need by bold statements on bears? Bold statements means opinions that have not been proven scientifically by sources or books yet within logic (e.g. a polar bear killing ten lions is way out of logic) but saying a polar bear displacing five lions because the lions do not want to be injured is a bold opinion within logic. Hope this helps . Another example of a bold statement: a hungry polar bear can chase off a bull mammoth or rhino which comes too close is different from a fanboy sentence: a polar bear can kill a mammoth and a rhino.

Oh ok now I get what you mean. A bold statement about bears is that I think a grizzly bear can kill a 400 pound gorilla with ease.

A polar bear can defeat a smilodon populator, american lion, and cave lion one on one. Absolutely it will. It will also beat an Ngandong tiger.

The american lion and the ngandong tiger will give kodiak bears and polar bears a great fight. I think either can because we have to keep in mind that these big cats can get huge.

Thanks for the additions input but I still think the Kodiak bears and polar bears will beat the American lion and ngandong tiger at max weights, average weights, and at parity. Anymore bold statements you would like to add?

Yes i would like to add that I don't think the kodiak will win as easy at max weight because these 2 prehistoric big cats can get big. I think it's a toss up.

You nuts? #1, at max weights, a kodiak has at least 500 lb weight advantange over the largest cats, thats 50% of the fight already. #2, how many times i have to tell you that the larger a cat is, he loses his most known advantage, speed and agilty. Cats with alot of weight is not good. Kodiak bear wins 8/9 out of 10 at max weights. In my NOBLE opinion, the most dangerous cats are between 500-700 lbs. more weight than that is just a fat cat with no agility. Also, at max weights, Kodiak bear at 1500 lbs,vs the largest cat ever, The Ngandong tiger at 1000 lbs, the bear is 10 feet tall while the tiger is about 8 feet tall, a 2 foot difference.

KODIAK-NGANDONG-ALASKA PENNINSULA. *******THIS CHART IS A LITTLE TRICKY HERE, LMAO***** NOTICE THAT FOR THE BEARS IT HAS THE MAX WEIGHTS, BUT FOR THE NGANDONG TIGER IT HAS THE LARGEST SPECIMEN EVER. IN THIS CASE, THEY SHOULD HAVE USED CLYDE THE 2400 LB KODIAK BEAR. EVEN LIKE THIS, THE KODIAK IS STILL MUCH HEAVIER AND LONGER ALSO.

Result of your conversion: 470 kilograms is equal to 1,036.17 pounds (avoirdupois) Not even Smilodon populator averaged as much as 400 kg ( 882 lbs ). The Ngandong tiger probably averaged somewhere between 500 and 600 pounds at best.

That 1040 lb specimen was the largest ever discovered. Nice trick i found in that Wildfact chart, lmao.

( IM humble O ).
