I wish to see all Russian biologist opinions on who would win between a siberian tiger and a ussuri brown bear? Who has more opinions favouring them? I am interested. To be perfectly honest, opinions carry no weight. The opinion of a biologist, a trophy hunter, an animal trainer, or the bar-tender who reads about wild animals and routinely watches wildlife documentaries all have their favorite animal and they all have opinions. Point is, an opinion is just that - an opinion. When a biologist says something like, "I have seen tigers attack even the biggest male moon bears in the forest"... he or she is actually referring to the fact that kill sites are sometimes found, where a bear was ambushed and killed by a tiger, and also scant amounts of bear flesh is sometimes discovered in bear droppings. Actual physical struggles between a tiger and a bear have very rarely been witnessed within the past 100-years. Those events can be counted on the fingers of one hand. How many of those few accounts are truthful? As to the size of moon bears ambushed, killed, and consumed by tigers, not even one has been measured and weighed. So, when a biologist makes the bold claim that "tigers kill even the biggest male black bears in the forest" he or she is (truthfully) just stating an opinion. Her opinion carries no more weight than yours, mine, or Sam the bar-tender. Why? Because, just like us, he or she has not witnessed a fight between a tiger and a full-grown male black bear or brown bear. *Fact: There is to date, no evidence what-so-ever of a tiger ever killing a bear of any species as heavy as himself.

I'm sorry that my last post ended this conversation. After all, that post is simply stating my opinion. Please feel free to post.

For many decades now, the endangered tiger has been the center of attention in Asia, as far as animals go. "Save the Tiger" has become a slogan in Asia. The vast majority, damn-near all, biologists in Asia are there on behalf of the tiger. The tiger is, to say the least, the big favorite animal among the biologists in Asia. And yet, most biologists favor the brown bear over the tiger in a struggle.

We missed this important statement, but i accidentally noticed it; where scientists state that the cave lion, even the largest of them, would stand no chance against a large cave bear in a confrontation. " Largest males of the Polish specimens of P. s. spelaea reached up to 400 kg, which is double of the weight of the average Siberian tiger. However, U. a. priscus was truly gigantic bear with an average weight of adult males ca. 600–800 kg, and it can reach even up to 1500 kg in the largest individuals (Musil, 2018; Marciszak et al., 2019c). Such immense individuals are known among other from Nied´zwiedzia Cave, where they co-occurred with the cave lion. In direct confrontation with the horse-size bear, even the largest cat, hyena clan or wolf pack was without any chance and usually left their rightfull kill for the competitor (Bocherens et al., 2011a, b, 2015; Bocherens, 2015) (Fig. 18)." domainofthebears.proboards.com/attachment/download/872
