Interesting topic choice. I approve. Bengal Tiger vs Polar Bear The tiger has no chance in a head on fight tbh

To start with, no big cat could survive life in the high arctic. It took a much tougher animal; the brown bear. In time, this brown bear has so perfectly adapted and evolved to become the polar bear. If an Amur tiger were to miraculously make his way up into the realm of the polar bear, either the climate would kill him, he would starve to death, or a bear would murder him. In a fight, I would be surprised if the big cat lasted a full minute.

I think you should do much more threads about refuting.

I think you should do much more threads about refuting. The topic, "Polar Bear vs Big Cat" was locked down because it is indeed a mismatch. The adult male polar bear is too big and strong for any big cat from any time period. Historic fights which, according to ages-old newspapers, took place in captivity are strictly forbidden here. Reason being, they are all unreliable. Newspapers from the 1800s and early 1900s relied heavily on sensationalism. Big stories ( tall tales ) sold newspapers. Some stories may have been legit, but which ones?

Well, most (if not all) the captive accounts of bears either killing or defeating tigers/lions are legit, that's obvious. Why? Because we know a bear can kill a cat easily.

Interesting topic choice. I approve. Bengal Tiger vs Polar Bear The tiger has no chance in a head on fight tbh The Bengal tiger has no chance even in an ambush in my opinion. The male polar bear is much bigger and stronger. A female polar bear being heavier will win most times but the Bengal tiger has a much better chance to win. At weight parity, it is debatable in my opinion although the bear still has my vote.

To be Fair, the bengal has a very small chance in an ambush, head on fight, the bengal has zero chance, I agree with u tho π

Reply 12. There is an Asiatic black bear among these captive polar bears.
These were the days before Animal Rights Act was established.

A male polar bear is much bigger than a male Ussuri brown bear and ambushing a larger bear is still dangerous. Yeah we basically agree on the same thing. A small disagreement doesnβt matter π.

kesagake : I think you are looking for this one also. Two adult female brown bears weighing nearly as much as him, not twice as him:

I guess Kodiak has beaten me in posting the account. Yeah, I remember when that story went viral on the internet. It was ( of course ) a fantasy started by some tiger fanboys. But, this tale was quickly vanquished in the old AVA many years ago - breaking so many ice-cold fanboy hearts.

Yes of course, but Kesagake wanted to see the real account. The misprinted one, not even the tiger fans believe it now, it has been completely refuted.

Yes of course, but Kesagake wanted to see the real account. The misprinted one, not even the tiger fans believe it now, it has been completely refuted. Understood; but it was not a misprint ( like a typo ). It was a deliberate fake story spread through the internet by tiger fanboys. But that old tale was squashed by knowledgeable posters. They just changed the female bear that was possibly near equal in weight with the tiger to a male bear double the tiger's weight.
