I was surprise too but I think its because a brown bear will have a much easier time killing a wild boar than a tiger does. Well it depends. If its a predation attempt, the tiger will kill the boar much faster. If its a face to face fight, the bear will do much better than the tiger. In fact, i dont even think a tiger will defeat a Russian wild boar face to face.

We basically agree on the same subject.

I agree with you Kodiak. Tigers don't seem to do so well face to face. I say the tiger wil kill the boar 60% face to face if not less.

A 770 pound wild boar outweighs even the largest siberian tigers.

American black bears above 500 pounds are rare. Wild hogs in the Southern states, which I am very familiar with, look similar to Eurasian wild boar. Black bears are thought to sometimes prey upon them but I feel certain that a black bear would be after pigs ( juveniles ). Black bears are not by nature very predaceous. On average, black bears and "razorbacks" are roughly at size/weight parity. They might squabble over food resources. American black bears above 500 pounds are not just rare but more predatory than other black bears in general.

I believe that, in a successful ambush attack on a large male wild boar, a tiger makes a cleaner quicker kill. He is a professional hunter and killer. However, I believe that the grizzly kills more of the big males than tigers do. This is likely ( just opinion ) because when the big wild boar turns to face his adversary, the tiger flees but the bear stands his ground.

That would explain the chart we saw.

Since we know that a black bear in the southern states of America will attack even the largest razorback hog, it would be interesting to learn of Asiatic black bear and wild boar relations.

Interesting. Asiatic black bears and wild boar endure each others company as they feed upon the same food items. Perhaps little if any predation. I'm sure that both the boar and the bear would scavenge a carcass from the other.

The asiatic black bear cubs get nervous in the company of wild boars. The asiatic black bear eats mostly plants (85%), south of the Russian far east.

Guys, I thought this was about grizzly-wild boar relations, not tiger-boar relations.
