/\ The smilodon populator and American lion might have the strongest forelimbs. The title of the strongest jaws out of all big cats goes to the American lion and Ngadong tiger.

More... wildfact.com/forum/topic-ngandong-tiger-panthera-tigris-soloensis?page=3 So, with this data, we can say that the tiger where the femur came had a calculated had-body length of 240 cm "straight", a standing shoulder height of 120 cm and tail of the same size giving a total length straight of 360 cm. This means that I will need to update my datasheet about this subspecies. On the weight section, calculations are between 363 kg (my calculation) to 380 kg (Dr Per Christiansen, not yet published), and also over 400 kg, depending of the source.

Some tiger enthusiasts - not from W.F. which I will not name - claim: "A large male Ngandong Tiger could have weighed up from 400-550kg, (1,212.54 pounds). Compare: Average fully grown male Kodiak bear (9 years+) - 1077.3 pounds.

Funny how when it comes to tiger vs lion most tiger enthusiasts say that the Bengal tiger will win since it's bigger than the African lion but when it comes to bears - who posses a considerable weight advantage over tigers, they say bears are fat and size doesn't matter. Tiger enthusiasts say that tigers kill larger animals than themselves all the time and bears are just prey and not true carnivores meanwhile even sloth bears gave tigers a fight. Now one can imagine how a Kodiak bear will mass up even the largest tigers.

Compare: Average fully grown male Kodiak bear (9 years+) - 1077.3 pounds. That could be a one of record weight just as there is a male Ussuri brown bear that weighs 1320 pounds. Every animal has exceptionally large and exceptionally small specimens.

Comparison between all known tiger subspecies: The leftmost one represents a massive unofficial tiger discovered in Borneo, dubbed "the Pleistocene Bornean Tiger“. It is estimated to be 480 kg, making it one of the largest felines ever lived! carnivora.net/visual-comparisons-t47-s1200.html#p223961480 kilograms is equal to 1,058.22 pounds

Back to topic, at average weights, the smilodon populator would beat a Ngadong tiger in a grappling match but the tiger is more equip for an upclose throat bite while the smilodon is more equip to slash with these long canines and pierce the skull (despite having greater risk of suffering broken canines).

Yes; the topic is: Ngandong Tiger vs Smilodon populator - but mostly I'm looking for some confirmed weight estimations accepted by the experts.
