When debating a fight with a bull elephant seal, be it a lion, a tiger, a brown bear, or a polar bear, all we can do is speculate. I try to picture a fight in my mind. The elephant seal is gigantic. Size matters. But size is all he has. He can weigh from 8,000 to 9,000 pounds. A four-ton caterpillar. I can visualize a tiger making attempted attacks on this behemoth, then walking away. I believe that any of our 'Big Four' can dodge any attack from the giant seal. But the seal would probably survive all attacks against him as well - just my thoughts.

That's the Southern elephant seal. The Northern one, which is in reply #733, reaches around 5000 lbs.

Dimetrodon seems to be winning 😉. It is probably makes a good aquatic hunter like the Spinosaurus.

5000 pounds is about the same weight as an African hippo. Not even a big bear can defeat that.

5000 pounds is about the same weight as an African hippo. Not even a big bear can defeat that. No, 5000 Pounds (2267kg) Is much larger than a african hippo. Eltringham (2010) reports body weights for Hippo's Culled in uganda; the average weight for bulls was 1,536 kg and the heaviest bull weighed 2,065 kg, the average for cows was 1,386 kg (3,056 lbs) and the heaviest cow weighed 1,716 kg (3,783 lbs) if you're still hesitant over those figures cause of how low they are, see also Owen Smith (1988) where a large sample of Hippo bulls culled in Uganda averaged 1,480 kg (3,263 lbs) with the heaviest bull weighing 1,600 kg (3,527 lbs).

It is not called Argentinosaurus for no reason. It lived in Argentina.

This is new. Quote: However, the fossilised bone fragments indicate the new titanosaur was far larger, easily exceeding Andesaurus in size and likely making it bigger then the largest known land animals, the Patagotitan and Argentinosaurus - both types of sauropods.

The heaviest is still the brachiosaurus.
