The brown bear in his summer form is still more robustly built.

Tell you what, if you fellas can locate pictures of two animals that you want compared side by side that appear to be symmetrical in size then post them up.and I will take and put them side by side. it's not hard to do using Microsoft Paint. In fact the picture of that large Black Bear I stole from one of Gurahl's post.I looked at a ton of pictures online and it's difficult to find the RIGHT picture that shows each symmetrically.
I fixed the Cougar and Bear pic some, still not perfect, but better.
Simply resizing the picture doesn't look as good as now you have a picture that is chopped down compared to the other. Ideal is to find two pictures of equal size Pixel wise that appear to be the animals true size next to the other. This will be very difficult to find. Unfortunately for a true size comparison you will need to find a picture online with the two already in the same picture.

It's hard to find pictures that will depict each animals true size as apposed to the other. This was the best I could find at the moment. Some good pictures for comparing the animals anyway. Reply #233 looks like an accurate comparison. Reply #236 is obviously a tiger fan-boy made picture showing Bart the bear being attacked by a tiger bigger than he is ( stupid ). Gurahl knew how to take two pictures and manipulate their sizes to post them at proper comparable sizes with each other. Its a computer skill. But; I do like the pictures. He may have used Photoshop. Photoshop is something I do not have nor have any experience with. Other than that the only way to make something bigger or smaller is to simply resize each picture till they look right and put them together.

* BEARS. ( old depiction. The U.m.tyrannus should be a brown bear and should be standing between the cave bear and Arctodus simus ).
