I think a bear is a better kleptoparasite than a tiger because the bear has as size advantage.

Are you sure about this? So if wolves had a carcass a tiger wouldn't try to steal the meat?

Don't tigers steal food from leopards? Never heard tigers stealing from anyone. Tigers hunt leopards as prey.

Tigers are not Kleptoparasites, they dont steal food from other animals. Not by habit. But I wouldn't say never. I could well imagine a tiger chasing off a leopard from its kill; just as a lion will do. But, they are hard-wired to hunt live prey. As for lions, It has been said that a lone male feeds more on the carrion and the kills of lessor predators than from his own hunting.

I know lions steal kills. I never really saw any account or video of a tiger stealing a kill. If it did happen, its very rare. Still, tigers are not classified as Kleptoparasites.

A couple of interesting finds OldBlue. Nice. Edit and add: Let's get this topic back on track - Arctodus simus.

back to Arctodus Simus yeah. Yep; we must admit where we are wrong and admit each and every quality of the big cats and other animals where they outperform the bear. Else we become "them".

Here is the book “The great bear almanac” by one of the best experts on bears, Gary Brown. This is his description of the short faced bear. surprising to me was that he says Arctodus Simus possibly kept humans off the North American continent.
