Most Ussuri brown bears at 400 pounds are sub adults and therefore not at full strength. And females bears are not as strong as male bears pound to pound.

Tiger vs polar bear is not even a contest. Nothing more than a killing. Tiger / Polar Bear = Ant / Boot. Yeah its a total mismatch in favour of the polar bear. However, a male barren ground grizzly at weight parity would be stronger than both a tiger and lion at parity due to its body and bone structure. At weight parity; the smaller barren ground grizzly would ( IMHO ) destroy a lion or a tiger - probably the world's most aggressive bear species.

Normally, at same weight, i would favour a lion over a brown bear 6/10 times, but most brown bears same weight as a lion at about 400 lbs are either subadults or females. But a barren ground grizzly would be an adult, so at weight parity, i would also favour them over a lion 6/10 times.

When someone offers a face-off such as "Lion vs Kodiak she-bear" I see this as their surrender of defeat. Same if they offer their big cat against a sub-adult bear.

Yeah, the problem is that most of these guys dont have a clue, so when they offer a bear vs big cat at same weight, they think both specimens are full grown, so you have to tell them that the bear is not full grown or a female.
Anyways, lets stay on topic: power vs strength vs stamina vs endurance
