Best way to view a polar bear. Have tours in the arctic and leave them free to roam.

Quote from reply #7: In the Ramayana, the mighty “Jambhavantha” who along with the army of langurs helped Lord Rama fight Ravana, was a bear in the Kishkinda Mountain. This mountain around Hospet, which was apparently the home of the “Vanaras” (Langurs or monkeys) in the Ramayana is even now the abode of numerous langurs and bears. “The Jungle Book”, a very famous novel by Rudyard Kipling, features “Baloo” the bear who becomes Mowgli’s good friend risking his own life in order to save Mowgli on many occasions. Both in central India which inspired Jungle Book and the area around Kishkinda, the kind of bears found are known as “sloth bears” and in many such works of literature, sloth bears have found unique and special roles to play. *It never ceases to irritate me when people insist that Baloo - Mowgli's teacher and best friend in "The Jungle Book" - is a sloth bear. I clearly understand their reasoning. But what matters reasoning? Rudyard Kipling clearly states that Baloo is a brown bear - and that is the bottom line. India's brown bear is the Himalayan brown bear also called the red bear.

I will be roughly 60 miles from the Birmingham Zoo: www.birminghamzoo.com/ They have two female black bears. Fascinating Facts Bety and Sassy are wild rescued bears from Big Sky, Montana. They were being fed by humans and lost their natural fear of people. Three attempts were made by Montana Fish and Wildlife to rehab the bears and release them back into the wild, but were ultimately unsuccessful and the bears were deemed nuisance and non-releasable.

Not all zoos. It also depends on the quality of zoos. If the animals can run freely, it’s alright. However, polar bears should never be in zoos or circuses as they are not very adaptable outside their natural enviroment.

Just a question are u guys for or against zoos Zoos and circuses are not always bad. For example, if a hunter/poacher kills a mother bear, or a car kills a mother bear, the cub wont be able to survive on its own in the wild. So the only way that cub will survive is in captivity.

Just a question are u guys for or against zoos A zoo run properly is a good thing. It provides a home for endangered animals. A zoo can teach children about animals and can lead some of them into becoming our next defenders of the wild. No animal should ever be kept in a small cage, but should have a habitat that resembles his natural home with plenty of room.
