In my opinion, whales and dolphins should never be hunted either. This applies to many other animals.

brobear A very confusing article; in the opening lines it is mentioned that the hunter estimated the bear to have weighed more than 800lbs but in the last paragraph they write this: "After field dressing, the bear weighed 803.9 pounds. Some of the meat and fat were donated to locals, and the rest of the meat is at the processor."

/\ Trophy hunters almost always exaggerate the weights of the animals they hunt.

wecareaboutanimal.org/eaten-by-loin/?fbclid=IwAR0DD1KVk6XKf1RpLU7Osqytk-FpgSzxyl2m_sCExK9TFCT-cpRdCDDQWdw Trophy hunter who targeted lions and elephants gets eaten by crocodiles. Trophy hunters pay huge sums of money to kill wild animals for in-home display. Trophy hunting troubles conservation by exacerbating the population decline of many imperiled species. In many places in Africa, poaching is a real problem. Hunters sneak onto reserves and sanctuaries to take the life of animals for specific expensive parts, such as the ivory horns of elephants and rhinoceroses. But sometimes the animal kingdom has its own sense of justice and one hunter came to a demise that could be described as “karma.”

Credit to King Kodiak: www.wcax.com/2021/12/15/2-women-found-guilty-interfering-with-bear-hunters/ 2 women found guilty of interfering with bear hunters. ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - Two Caledonia County women have been found guilty of interfering with bear hunters. It happened back in October n Groton State Forest. State Game Wardens say three bear hunters using hounds spotted a bear and followed it onto private property where it climbed a tree. They left it unharmed and returned to their truck. Police say that’s where they found Donna Babic and Betty Eastman letting air out of their tires. Both women are from Groton but authorities say neither owned the property. Wardens say the women then let their German Shepherd loose and it attacked one of the leashed hounds. The court fined each woman $262 and banned them from hunting, fishing, and trapping for one year. “Vermonters don’t always agree on wildlife management, especially when it comes to big game,” Fish and Wildlife Chief Game Warden Colonel Jason Batchelder said in a statement. “Even so, I would ask that Vermonters respect one another’s constitutional right to hunt. Intentionally interfering with legal hunters in any fashion will result in court action, especially in a potentially dangerous fashion as we saw in this case.” Related Story: Wildlife Wars: Animal defenders struggle to change hunting and trapping traditions in Vermont

It is like Trophy hunters view this as a game "Who can kill the biggest bear?" It is sickening.

Always glad to read about instances where the trophy hunter turns into the victim. Unfortunately there are very few areas around the world where trophy hunters and poachers are shot on sight by the wildlife rangers, it should be a standard everywhere in my opinion.
