Yes you sure on the king at finding information. A few quality members are enough to make a small forum successful as said before. Brown bears are indeed among the most tenacious animals pound to pound.

One thing that makes a brown bear durable when it comes to fighting is their fat, thick fur, together with their heavy bones and muscles. While it is true that they put on weight during autumn to hibernate during winter, it does not make them suffer from obesity as their bones are made to sustain their weight (which is built to fluctuate according to seasons).

In the case of Brown Bears, obesity (for lack of a better term) in early fall is a necessity to survive. As we well know any Bear that goes into hibernation in poor condition stands a very high rate of mortality.
