Tyrannosaurus rex is still the king of dinosaurs. Among the flesh eaters, no land-based animal has ever lived who can rival him.

Well, all we can do is speculate, read the data, and look at pictures. ( IMO ) T-rex would be the victor. While the size difference is minor, the T-rex is built broader ( more of a tank ) and his skull is heavier. The carcharodontosaurids had blade-like teeth for slicing flesh, but T-rex could bite right through bones. The T-rex was simply a more sophisticated beast. While the arms of the carcharodontosaurids were longer than those of the tyrannosaur, neither were they really long ( not bear-like ). However - we have no way of saying for sure who is right or wrong here. I will add, from reply #8: "And unlike “T-Rex’s bite” was astonishing; it didn’t need to do slashing attacks like the Carcharodontosauridae did with sauropods, waiting for them to bleed out." *I never did believe this theory. Those big carnosaurs probably preyed upon juvenile sauropods. Giganotosaurus was a carcharodontosaurid.

When I was a school boy, Tyrannosaurus rex was called, "King of the Dinosaurs" and, I haven't changed my mind. Another good comparison.

Spinosaurus with Carcharodontosaurus. Two massive predators that lived at the same time as each other and in the same place but had completely different ecological niches. Diagrams by Franoys*IMHO - wildfact.com/forum/topic-spinosaurus-news?page=4 I would wager that Carcharo hunted Spino on occasion.

/\ It will be interesting if a fight between two grown dinosaurs were actually seen in real life. Having dinosaurs alive today and living among us would be interesting.

I believe T. Rex beats any Spinosaurid, even Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus the biggest Spinosaurid, easily.

Honestly T rex wins easily due to its more robust built, thicker neck, and stronger jaws.

Spinosaurus, T. Rex, and Giganotosaurus are the 3 largest land predators ever.
