Carnivora is a monophyletic order of placental mammals consisting of the most recent common ancestor of all cat-like and dog-like animals, and all descendants of that ancestor. Members of this group are formally referred to as carnivorans, and have evolved to specialize in eating flesh. The order is the fifth largest order of mammals, comprising at least 279 species. _________________________________________________________________________
We made a similar list once before, but within what topic? Anyway, I'm going to name the top 12 Carnivorans in their order of dominance as I see them; my opinion. Imagine a fantasy land where there are no boundaries separating them. Which animal would rule all others? IMO... 1- Lion prides and coalitions/Polar Bear. (equals because neither would ever see the other). 2- Brown Bear. 3- Tiger/(lone) Lion. 4- Spotted Hyena clans. 5- Grey Wolf packs. 6- American Black Bear. 7- Moon Bear/Sloth Bear. 8- Andean Bear/Giant Panda (?). 9- Jaguar. 10- Sun Bear. 11- Leopard. 12- Cougar. *Would you list them differently?
