Golden Compass crossover: Iorek and the polar bears.

Summary:

Helping Lyra Silvertongue in her final quest, Iorek and his pansetbjorns headed back to the north, however, they got suck in a worm hole on the way. They found themselves in a different North Pole where they met Future Trunks (1) whom had replaced Beerus as the destroyer.

Prologue:

The snow was falling and the sky was dark, indicating it was winter. Scanning the place, a polar bear in golden armor looked around sniffing the environment. It certainly looks like Svalbard but it does not look like his kingdom which he had taken back from Iofur Ragnar.

“Where are we ?” Looking into the blue eyes of a strange man with purple hair with a sword stash in his back, the leader of the pant set Bjorn growled as he ordered the rest of the polar bears to stand back, willing to risk his life.

Rushing at the strange man who flew into the skies evading his paw swipes, it shock him briefly. In his world he had seen magic, and strange powers but never a human as strong as the purple haired warrior.

“Calm down. You must have entered this realm due to some time distortion. It is alright. Make yourselves at home here for as long as you like. I don’t sense any evil in you.” The man in purple hair flash him a smile.

“Who are you?” Iorek Byrnison still suspicious growled but spoke perfectly in human language which did not seem to surprise the strange man with a sword.

“My name is Trunks and I am the guardian of the Earth. My counterpart has blue hair and has become the universe destroyer. I work closely with the Kiaoshin and know when something is going on in my universe. Don’t worry you are safe and free to make your homes here.”

Calming down, Iorek Byrnison asked, “Is there anyway we can get home?”

“I am not a hundred percent sure. Honestly maybe never but I guess unlike your earth there are no strange people around. Am I right?”

“No. There are power with powers and magic. The people in my earth have animals walking beside them called daemons. Among them is a close friend of mine Lyra Silvertongue. Others are not so friendly. Time distortion is common in my area but never this extreme.” The polar bear rested in the snow while observing strange creatures walking pass him. “This is what I find strange.”

“You all don’t have a place to stay. Why don’t you come to planet Beerus and I will personally train you all so you won’t be bored. You might be polar bears but also warriors. Furthermore, there is plenty of food.” A shorter purple humanoid with white spiky hair and blue strange clothes appeared. “I am the Kiaoshin of Universe 7.”

“You will all have to hold on to each other if you want to be teleported.” Future Trunks spoke seriously.

Not easily deceived and having a high level of intelligence, Iorek Byrnison walked up to the man with purple hair, commanding the rest of his kin to hold on to each other and the nearest on to hold on to him. “It is alright. This man can be trusted. His heart is just as noble as Lyra Silvertongue.”

Seeing the armoured polar bears holding each other’s shoulders in one straight organise line, Future Trunks took hold of Kiaoshin’s hand saying, “We are ready when you are.”

Iorek Byrnison found himself and his entire community of armoured polar bears teleported to a strange planet which looks like a flat earth.

A man looking exactly like Future Trunks but with blue hair, blue eyes, and approached when the armoured polar bears. He was dressed like an Egyptian prince and looks almost as serious as his purple haired counterpart yet has a sense of justice. “My counterpart. I believe you have found someone who thinks just like us. He is a leader and has a sense of justice too.”

“Ho ho ho. Trunks sama. He would make a great destroyer too. Do you want me to train him just like I have trained you?” A much taller man with strange white hair and blue skin, wearing purple, holding a staff, standing behind the man in blue.

“Sure thing, Whis. Why not. He does not have a home to go to. Train all of them as they are a warrior race. They might look like polar bears but they have a strong fighting spirit like my father, Vegeta.” The man with blue hair’s frown turn into a smile while looking upon the polar bears yet talking to his attendant.

“Ho ho ho sure thing, Trunks sama, you are way kinder than the previous destroyer Beerus sama. He would have made these armoured polar bears do favours for him like cooking. You are way different.” Whis chuckled.

“I remember the days where I had to get him a different variety of food every time I wanted to train. Thank goodness my mother has hired plenty of chefs and for the ramen.” These words from Future Trunks with blue hair made Whis, the Kiaoshin, and his purple haired counterpart chuckle.

Looking on and listening to everything, Iorek Byrnison was able time perceive everything that is going on. Bowing down to the Kiaoshin and to the blue haired Future Trunks, Iorek Byrnison accepted their tutorship. “Please train my kin and I until we find a way to go back to our home world. Our friends back there might need our help one day should we return.”

All the other polar bears followed their leader’s example.

“If my kin and I obtain powers here, we will not need to worry about our enemies back in our homeworld.” Despite not being able to sense ki, Iorek Byrnison could perceive that all four his new acquaintances in front of him, two of them which are dieties, one angel, and a purple hair guardian on earth.

“Ho Ho Ho. I am hoping one of these bears stay in this realm and becoming your replacement should you hit the bucket one day, Trunks sama. How long has it been since you have taken the place of Beerus sama?”

“It has been fifty long years.” Future Trunks smiled. Over the years, he had become used to Whis poking fun at him from time to time.

Chapter 1: Preliminary Training begins.

Deemed too weak to be trained by Whis too soon, Iorek Byrnison was sent to King Kai’s planet to train with the infamous king Kai himself. Lacking the ability to make jokes, it took at least three months for the leader of the pantsebjorn to make him laugh. However, he did impress King Kai in the fact he was able to catch Barbus, the monkey in only one week and knock out Gregory the insect with a single paw swipe the following day. All that done without removing his golden sky armor which is considered his very own soul.

“You have a lot of potential there and your skills, strength, and courage rivals that of a saiyan. Unfortunately, you still have to make me laugh.” The fat deity mocked the armoured polar bear. “You had better make me laugh soon or else.”

“I will make you train me even if I have to beat the living day lights out of you.” Finally reaching his boiling point after days of being mocked, he attacked King Kai with his huge paws and claws (which are at least as long as a child’s hand).

Missing with each hit, King Kai eventually broke out laughing. “Ha ha ha ha ha! You made me laugh at last. I will keep my word and train you. You are the first one to actually make me laugh while attempting to lay a hit on me. With your determination, you will probably become better than me in no time.”

A year later, Iorek’s strength greatly improved but his body was not strong enough to take on more than 2 times Kiaoken. Yet he managed to impress King Kai who considers him comparable to Son Goku in terms of potential.

“Where is that Saiyan names Son Goku you talk about?” Iorek Byrnison was hoping to be able to directly train under him or at least get tips.

“He is in a tournament in the other world. The only one who can keep up with him now is Vegeta and Son Gohan.”

“I am surprise that none of them made it to the level of destroyer.”

“Well, Son Goku has died a natural death and there is no way to wish him back. As for Vegeta, he was wished back from planet Namek and but he died of a heart attack when he spotted Beerus for this first time. His redeem self who attempted to shield Bulma not knowing that his own son was Whis disciple at that time gave him the right to train on this planet with Son Goku. Now they are eternal rivals and constant fighting partners. The prince of all saiyans is proud of his two versions of Trunks regardless but that is another story. None of them are allowed by King Yemma to go and train on planet Beerus because they are dead.” King Kai smirked. “But you have the opportunity in your lifetime. Besides, Future Trunks, the man in blue hair, is the most benevolent. You can call him Future Trunks 1.”

“What about the purple haired man ?”

“You can just refer to him as Future Trunks 2. The Kiaoshin should be coming around soon to take you elsewhere for training. I have nothing left to teach you. Besides, you have surpassed me. All your kin have been taken to planet Namek and received a power boost from the elder. Therefore, they are well look after. Just focus on your training.”

Iorek Byrnison was taken by the Kiaoshin who arrive as soon as King Kai finished his speech and took the leader of the armored polar bears to Kami’s lookout. There he entered the hyperbolic time chamber with Future Trunks 2. The training was intense and he remembered Whis telling him that both versions of Future Trunks train with the same intensity as their late father Vegeta.”

Iorek Byrnison came out of the hyperbolic time chamber with the purple haired man becoming much much stronger than before, at the level of SSJ 2 as commented by the Kiaoshin.

Next he was taken to the Kiaoshin realm where the elder Kai enhanced his power to mystic level using a strange ritual. “I have already done a ritual to all your kin, thousands of them and it exhaust you. You must reward me bringing me a picture of a pretty woman.”

Iorek said nothing but he knew the elder Kai was a pervert gave his noble heart the feeling of disgust. He remembered the warning King Kai has given him.

Taken back to planet Beerus by the Supreme Kai, he was greeted by Whis once again. “Your kin has been well trained and their strength has improved tremendously but you have surpassed all of them. While you did well, I must tell you that you have only completed your preliminary training. Training with me will involve a lot of chores including cutting the grass, cleaning the bottles, and running on weights, which will be done by increasing the weights of your armour.”

“My armour is like my soul. Therefore, I will keep it on during training even if it kills me.” The leader of the polar bears answered firmly.

“Anyway, unlike Trunks sama, there will be no need for you to change his bedsheets as he does not sleep all day like Beerus does. Actually you need to do it but it should be easy. Trunks sama did not want to put you through this but I am afraid it is a must for a candidate for becoming a destroyer or if you want to become as strong as one as you need discipline to pass my training test.”

“Is there anymore I need to know ?”

“No this is your second preliminary test. Your ultimate training test will involve being trained by my father the Grand Priest that is if you can impress him. So far only Trunks sama has been able to do so ho ho ho!”

Iorek did not say anything except. “When can I start and where is my kin right now ?”

“You can start training today. Your kin are safe on a planet which suits their temperature. They are being trained by the elder Pybara from planet Yadrat at the moment.”

Chapter 2: Core training.

The core training involved Iorek Byrnison having to lift weights. Whis using his staff made the polar bear’s armor much heavier than it is suppose to be. Still that did not stop him from moving a considerable bit.

Noticing this made Whis impress enough to make the leader of the pantsebjorn enter his chamber.

“Why can’t I move? What kind of training is this ?” Iorek Byrnison growled, clearly frustrated that he is unable to move his body.

“Calm down. You just need to learn to seal your ki in your body.” Whis who was inside the chamber, supervising Iorek’s training spoke calmly.

It did not take long for an intelligent polar bear to quickly learn that. Release back to reality, he was made to spar with Future Trunks 1 and learn how to use the hakai energy.

“My, my, Trunks sama, you are throwing him to the deep end. Is there any reason for that? You don’t have anyone left on earth except your counterpart. Your wife is now in a different realm.”

“I just want to put him in the deep end. That is all.” Future Trunks 1 spoke while blocking paw swipes from the polar bear.

“I won’t take long for the Grand Priest to take notice of him as he did to you, Trunks sama.” Whis who was watching both of them train chuckled.

“Than I will be off the hook from being a destroyer.” Future Trunks narrowly dodge a paw swipe from Iorek Byrnison. The paw swipe from the polar bear grazed the cheek out the hybrid saiyan destroyer.

Growling with a tone so strong that it can do anything between shaking the earth to its core to destroying the planet or even the universe, Iorek Byrnison turned into his golden form.

“My my, a golden ice bear. What is sight.” Whis who notice the change had a smile on his face. This was the first time in decades Future Trunks saw his attendant get excited about something.”

“Does he need to learn anything more ?” Future Trunks 1 looked to Whis for advice.

“Well there is one place we can take him to, planet Yadrat. He might learn something which Son Goku has not learn.”

Taken to planet Yadrat, it took three months for him to learn instant transmission and another three to awaken his spirit as he had more than enough discipline to do so. Being able to sense deity’s ki, he was able to find his way to planet Beerus without any help from the Supreme Kai.

“Welcome back, Iorek.” Whis smiles. I must inform you that there is a Tornament of power coming up in ten days. Since destroyers cannot participate, Trunks sama will be your supervisor together with the Supreme Kai and myself. However, you will be the lead fighter and are allowed to choose eight other fighters to join in. Trunks 2 is allowed to participate by the way.”

Choosing eight of the largest and strongest of his kin, including the son of his defeated foe, Iofur Ragnar, they were trained intensely and alternately by both Trunks, Whis, and Iorek Byrnison himself.

The training when smoothly and the bears knew what they were doing mainly because Iorek Byrnison trained them from time to time on another planet.

These eight bears also did the same chores which Iorek did on planet Beerus way before the Grand Priest announced the tournament of power.

“This universe was going to be destroyed anyway. If you had not been training diligently. I believe that Grand Zeno, the Omni King saw you bears training and improving quickly that he decided to hold that tournament of Power. You will be meeting candidates from all eighteen universes, do not fight with them. Your strongest opponent would probably be Jiren, a mortal that has surpassed his very own destroyer.”

Iorek Byrnison watched as the eight armoured bears under his rulership greatly improved to the point they were actually able to learn to seal their ki quickly, probably thanks to the time they observed him during his training.

The day of the Tornament of Power finally came.

“It looks like Toppi has replaced Belmord as the destroyer in Universe 11. His place as leader of the pride troopers have been taken over by Dyspo who looks like Beerus ho ho ho!” Whis observing the surrounding laughed. “By the way, Champa, the twin brother of Beerus seems to be more unhealthy than ever, he would probably be replace soon. Their strongest fighter is Hit and like Universe 7, they have saiyans too. It seems like Cabba, Kale, and Claudia have also gotten stronger since the last time they were defeated by Trunks sama, before he became a destroyer that is.”

“That universe by the way is Universe 6, the twin of our universe. It looks like someone new has joined the pride troopers by the way.” The Kiaoshin interjected.

“That new candidate looks like an Ussuri green bear. He was once train my Beerus before the first tournament of Power when only eight universes were involved. However, both the Onceler’s have decided to betray us as they think Universe 11 is much better.” Both Future Trunks clenched their fist watching that Onceler smirking at them before turning from green bear form to human form, a man wearing green in green glasses.

“There are suppose to be two versions of them. It looks like both of them have fused together to become one. Look at the pastors on their years which their Supreme Kai has given them. They are pretty smart.” Whis looking upon the Oncelers showed the to Iorek Byrnison. However, you and your polar bears should be able to win still regardless.”

“We will fight our best. We will not surrender until we win.”

“Just a reminder, do not make a selfish wish of you do not want to be erased. Trunks sama saved his universe when he wished for all the other universes to be restored. The Grand Priest than told him that Grand Zeno was going to erase everything if a selfish wish was made. Not that I care as I will be spared regardless.”

Chapter 3: The fight starts.

Looking upon the candidates from the other universes, Iorek Byrnison quickly deduced that the only one that would cause his problems would be Jiren and probably Hit. While the latter is not as powerful, he has a lot of tricky skills and is able to manipulate time.

Iorek has done the wise thing in asking Whis, the Supreme Kai, and both Future Trunks information on their opponents.

The fight began after the Grand Priest who was standing on his platform floating in space, above the battle royale arena, just next to Grand Zeno’s throne, counted from ten to one.

All the candidates rushed into the fight except for Iorek Byrnison and his polar bears. The battle was over as soon as it started.

Bergamo, a blue grey werewolf with red scarf became a giant due to absorbing the powers thrown at him.

“Do they never learn.” He smirked as he knocked out some candidates from Universe 4, angering Quitila, its destroyer. The blue grey werewolf did not pull any punches, he blasted Rebrianne, the lead fighter of Universe 2 out of the ring. Unfortunately, he got too close to Iorek Byrnison who swatted him out with a single swipe of his paw.

“All this training paid off.” The leader of the armoured polar bear was actually surprise by his own strength.

Fused Onceler in the meantime took out Lavender and Basil, Bergamo’s yellow and red younger siblings before blasting them out of the stage. Once again, Universe 9 was the first Universe to be destroyed by Grand Zeno as he clenched his fist.

For the first time in his life, the armoured bears felt real fear. This force is stronger than any force they met in their reality. “It looks like we cannot mock around.”

Not wasting anytime, he went into the battle attacking Fused Onceler. Iorek Byrnison easily pushed the fused Ussuri green bear humanoid out of the arena, where he landed in front of Toppo and Kai, split up back in their human forms, looking embarrassed.

The other eight armored polar bears in the meantime took out all the pride troopers easily except for Jiren whom knocked one of them out.

Universe 10 and 2 in the meantime we’re eliminated.

Future Trunks 2 easily defeated Cabba as well as both the female saiyans, Kale and Claulifa whom have fused using patora becoming Kefla. Having train with the Grand Priest, he could now utilise his Ultra Instinct without growing tired.

Universe 1, 12, 5, and 8 were defeated by the combine effort of Iorek Byrnison and his armored bears surprising everybody.

“Not everybody gets to train with their angel”. Whis spoke to himself. Iorek Byrnison having sharp ears of a bear could hear what the universe 7 angel said word for word.

Soon Universe 3 and the rest were taken out.

Jiren whom had grown way more powerful than before according to Whis easily knocked out all the eight polar bears. “He is the only mortal to have surpassed the Domain of the destroyer. However, Iorek Byrnison can potentially win.”

Future Trunks 2 powered up to Mastered Ultra Instinct once more but was beaten by Jiren. “I am sorry My Alternate version, he is way more powerful than before. He seems to be glowing cyan blue. It looks like he has been training with his angel ever since you defeated him.”

Universe 6 was defeated after Jiren took out Hit once more.

Jiren bowed to both Trunks signalling his respect and indirectly congratulating Future Trunks 1 for becoming a destroyer. “I wish we could fight again. Even if I win, I will not truely be satisfied. Not after you defeated me fair and square the last time we fought.”

Iorek Byrnison transform into a form above his golden self. Now glowing cyan he was able to go toe to toe with Jiren surprising everybody.

“Looks like decades of training has got him catching up with you, Trunks sama. He could easily replace you if he desired too.” Whis poked fun at Future Trunks 1 who could only watch him.

“No. He has not use his special training from the Grand Priest just yet.” Future Trunks 1 countered.

“It seems the Grand Priest has taken a special interest in him and so has Grand Zeno sama ho ho ho.” Whis laughed calmly. “Apart from you Trunks sama and your counterpart. Both Jiren and Iorek Byrnison has reached a level of power where not even most destroyers can attain.”

The fight between Iorek Byrnison and Jiren continued. In spite of fighting, he could hear every conversation happening in his universe and it was all due to the discipline he had incurred while training with the Grand Priest.

The Grand Priest might be small but he is much more powerful than Whis and despite his laid back demeanour is a much stricter teacher.

Time was almost over, if nobody wins, it would end up a draw. Both fighters were going at each other toe to toe.

However, Iorek Byrnison has a trump card. Using his kiao Ken times twenty, he began pushing Jiren back, almost winning until Jiren’s blue aura turned purple. “You are not the only one with a Trump card.”


It is five minutes before the Tornament ends. Both were once again evenly match.

“Time is passing quickly.” The Supreme Kai look on nervously sweating, something that the leader of the armoured polar bear was once again aware of.

Turning into his final form, aura turning from cyan to lime green, still utilising his kiao Ken, Iorek Byrnison easily pushes Jiren out of the arena after knocking him out. Universe 11 was once again defeated making Universe 7 the champion.

Jiren smiled at the leader of the armoured polar bear in respect before being erased together with Universe 11.

Summoning the huge golden dragon larger than the galaxies from, Iorek Byrnison was told by the Grand Priest to make a wish.

Despite wanting to go back to his realm so badly, he realise that his kingdom is not the place but where his community who are with him on planet Beerus is. He also knew that making a selfish wish would mean the elimination of the multiverse, something which he did not want to happen to both Future Trunks and the Supreme Kai who he now considers friends. “I wish for the whole multiverse to be restored.”

Smiling, the Grand Priest ordered the multiverse to be restored.

Chapter 4: A new destroyer.

Back in Universe 7, the Grand Priest paid a visit, causing Future Trunks 1 and the Supreme Kai to bow down in fear. “Where is Iorek Byrnison. The Grand Zeno wants to see him.”

Iorek Byrnison who was training with Whis saw all that happen and rushed to the scene with Whis calmly tagging along.

Bowing down, hoping he was not in trouble until the Grand Priest told him to stand. “You will be coming to see Grand Zeno together with Whis, Trunks, and the Supreme Kai of course.”

Finding himself in Grand Zeno’s palace, Iorek Byrnison look around. Although curious initially, he quickly deduced that the place would be boring and hope he would not have to live here forever.

A few hundred metres on the right, he noticed Whis sister, Vados, the Universe 6 destroyer, Beerus overweight twin brother according to Whis,and Universe 6 Supreme Kai. Both of them were sweating unsure what would happen.

“Zeno Sama, Champa sama refuses to eat healthy, he still says my cooking is terrible. Poor me.” Vados tears made Champa and the Universe six supreme Kai tremble even more.

Taking a look at Champa, the Grand Priest spike out, “That is why the Grand Zeno wanted you all here today. He has decided that Champa will be replaced by Iorek Byrnison. This also means the Supreme Kai, Fuwa will also be replace. Both of them are obese and equally unhealthy and are unfit to be in their positions any longer. The mortal level of Universe 7 has improved even further and it is because of the deligence of Trunks. Universe 6 as its twin universe needs to catch up. I have been watching Iorek and so has Grand Zeno. We have decided to make you a destroyer. Do you accept?”

Knowing that saying no would mean erasure, Iorek Byrnison reluctantly accepted.

“Good it is done then. After the tornament of power, Grand Zeno noticed the cast difference in powers between the two twin universe. It is all thanks to your polar bears. I hope to see Universe 6 catch up soon. You may all return to your universe now.”

Back in Universe 6, Iorek, now dressed in red, black, and gold, was clinging on to Vados shoulder. He was one of the few destroyers that is larger and taller than his angel.

“Iorek sama. Why do you want to go to Universe 7? Is life as a destroyer here not enough for you?” Vados moving at the speed of light chuckled.

“I need to sort my kingdom out back on planet Beerus. My people need a new leader.”

“How noble of you. Champa sama only thinks of himself. I trust you will do a much better job than him.” Finally reaching Universe 7, Vados called out to him. “We are at our destination. It looks like Whis is training your kingdom and they are in good hands but you can still say hello if you want to, Iorek Sama.”

Letting go of Vados shoulder and landing between Whis and his polar bears, he motioned to them to stop training for a while. “To my loyal armoured bears. I am please to have been your leader and king. However, I am sure you have heard that I have been picked to be the destroyer of Universe 6. This is to balance out Universe 6 and 7. You have a choice to stay in this universe of follow me to Universe 6. Vados has found a home for us and will train you under my orders. I need an equal amount of males and females.”

Half the armored polar bears agreed to follow Iorek while the other half decided to stay behind.

“You have all made your choice. From today onwards the son of Iofur Ragnar will be your leader to these of you whom have decided to live in Universe 7. And to the new leader of the armoured bears of Universe 7, do not let the past haunt you. Be the b

“Will we ever meet again?” Future Trunks 1 whom came into the scene asked. “Also what has happened to your sky armour?”

“We will meet again every now and then as long as I do my duties well, the Grand Priest would not mind. Furthermore, we might have another tournament of power. Let’s make a deal, whomever wins, we will resurrect the other universes.” Iorek placed his huge paw on Future Trunks 1’s shoulder. “And you will always be one of my first teachers.”

“You are now my equal. In fact I should say you might have already surpassed me especially since the Grand Priest has decided to train you personally before the Tornament of Power.” Future Trunks replied and broke out laughing.

“I will never forget you, Trunks”. Removing his paw from Future Trunks 1’s shoulder, the new polar bear destroyer walked up to Vados placing his right paw on her right shoulder. The armoured polar bears which decided to go with him form a line behind him placing their paws on each other’s shoulders before Vados took off, leaving Universe 7 behind. “This is not the last time we will meet, Universe 7.”

“That was a touching goodbye.” Vados commented as she was once again moving at the speed of light.

Back in the place which Champa formerly thread foot on, Iorek Byrnison trained with Vados day and night actually impressing his attendant. “How has my improvement been getting along?”

“Not bad. Iorek Sama. You are easily the most powerful and discipline of all the destroyers I have ever served. The mortal level of Universe 6 will soon catch up to Universe 7 especially since we are training your kin almost everyday, ho ho ho.”

“You are beginning to sound like your younger brother, Whis.”

“That is because I am his older sister. He takes after me rather than the other way round. I have been training him for a thousand years to get him to where he is at today. What do you want to do today, Iorek Sama?”

“Take me around Universe 6. If I am going to be the destroyer of this place, I need to know my universe.” Iorek Byrnison once again walk behind Vados, placing his paw on her right shoulder.

The angel of Universe 6 took off. Iorek saw the stars and the planets realising that they are similar to the that of Universe 7, when he went there for a visit. He finally understood why both universes are twin universes.

Epilogue.

Decades later, Iorek Byrnison still held his title as the destroyer. The Grand Priest came to visit and offered to train one of his kin. He requested that the Son of Iofur Ragnar be trained.

In Universe 3, Maji Kayo was chosen by the the Grand Zeno to take the place of Universe 9’s destroyer. The blue humanoid with red eyes was taken to the Grand Priest Palace for training before that. “You might be weaker than Jiren but you will be able to help improve Universe 9.
