Been reading through the info on the domain. However, it is easy to forget bits and pieces after a few months especially regarding the extinct bears. May I suggest making a quiz on the bears as a way to refresh our memories?

Got the idea from a post by TheGreenAgriotherium. Any questions that any of us have, someone here just might know the answer. Sometimes not. Pulling a guess or opinion out of thin air with nothing to back up such a guess does not help. I would like to keep this generally on the topic of bears.

A huge amount of information learned from fossils retrieved from the La Brea Tar Pits. These discoveries include Short-faced bears and grizzlies. My question: Are there any similar "tar pits" to be found anywhere else on earth?

My question: Are there any similar "tar pits" to be found anywhere else on earth? Would Hermann's cave in Germany qualify? They have found bones of cave bears, cave wolves, cave hyenas, cave lions.
