What movies hit it big on your birth year? Here are a few from 1948: 1- Red River ... John Wayne. 2- Wake of the Red Witch ... John Wayne. 3- I Remember Mama ... Irene Dunne. 4- Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein ... last of the classic Universal monster movies. 5- Tarzan and the Mermaids ... last of the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movies. 6- Jungle Jim ... Johnny Weissmuller. 7- The Paleface - Bob Hope and Jane Russell. 8- The Babe Ruth Story ... William Bendix. *Note: There were plenty more; mostly westerns that were not half bad. But these eight I chose as among the top movies of that year.

1948: 1- The last Johnny Weissmueller Tarzan movie ( Tarzan and the Mermaids ). 2- The last Universal Monsters movie featuring Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Wolf-Man ( Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein ). 3- The last Hopalong Cassidy movie ( Strange Gamble ).
