I think brown bears world wide wary greatly in size from the Himalayan brown bear (red bear - only the size of a sloth bear) and the gobi bear to the giant kodiak bear. Brown bears tend to prosper wherever they go.

Brown bears tend to prosper wherever they go. This huge size variation is yet another brown bear survival properties. Where food resources are poorest, the mature males will average between 200 and 300 pounds. Where food resources are richest, the mature males will average 800+ pounds. Prehistory shows us that the largest animals are the most likely to go extinct during extreme climatic events. Brown bears simply down-size during hard times.

That is why the brown bear outlives all other bears in its habitat due to its adaptability, makes sense there.

Agree Brobear usually the big animals die off first! The larger and brighter stars (blue stars, bluish white stars) in the universe also do not last as long as the smaller ones (white, yellowish white, yellow, orange, and red) so that makes sense.

I hear time and time again from big cat fans saying that a bear of significant size is not a good thing and that a bear with too much fat will only hinder the bear from fighting at it's full capability. I fully disagree with this thinking because I think that the bigger the bear the stronger the bear will be. But this is just my take on this.

Thats the biggest bullshit i ever heard, ha ha ha. Bears are adapted to have all the weight they want, their skeletons and whole makeup, heavy bones, all that supports the weight. Bears dont lose speed either at max weights. Guess what? ITS THE OTHER WAY AROUND, big cats get worse and worse the more heavier they are. Cats need to be quick and agile, that is their main advantage, the heavier they are, the less agile they become. Now you know what to say.

I agree with you all the way King Kodiak. The thing is big cat fans don't like bears but they want their cats to be strong and built like bears. A 900 pound tiger or lion would be obese. Plain and simple. A cat is meant o be powerful but slender so they can move with ease. A bear is simply built and designed to be a tank. Muscle and fat is better than just all muscle in my opinion.

Oh yeah definatly. Good. Fat is good for bears, serves as good armour. Big cats barely have fat, that is why penetrating their vital organs its so easy for hunters.

Yeah the female bear took a shotgun blast to the side and still got up and charged. A big cat would have dropped dead on the spot.

Agree a bear is equipped with long fur, fat, thick bones and thick muscles. I wonder if the bear in the video died from the shotgun blast. Bears are certainly some tough animals.

To be honest i dont know if she died later. ill tell you what though, i wish to god she would have grabbed that man and ripped his head off. I dont care about men, i favour the life of bears over most men.

I love bears and I would risk my life for them but I also respect humans as well because Im a human. A human will kill you, and your family with no problem and on purpose. An animal will never do that on purpose. We need alot more animals in the world and much less humans. The human polulation is a plague.

I do believe that the human race is already too overpopulated.
