I'm about to watch the Lion King this evening, so excited. Yeah I've seen the preview and looks good. I remember well the animated original 25 years ago. This new version is quite remarkable with it's computer generated characters.

Don't know where else to put this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_based_on_Greco-Roman_mythology Ursus is a super-human pseudo-Biblical/Roman character who is the hero in a series of Italian films made in the 1960s. There were a total of 9 Italian sword-and-sandal films that featured Ursus as the main character, as follows: Ursus (a.k.a. Mighty Ursus, a.k.a. Ursus, Son of Hercules) 1961 (starring Ed Fury) La Vendetta di Ursus (The Revenge of Ursus) 1961 (starring Samson Burke) Ursus e la Ragazza Tartara (Ursus and the Tartar Princess, a.k.a. Ursus and the Tartar Girl, a.k.a. The Tartar Invasion) 1961 (starring Joe Robinson) Ursus Nella Valle dei Leoni (Ursus in the Valley of the Lions, a.k.a. Valley of the Lions) 1962 (starring Ed Fury) Ursus Nella Terra di Fuoco (Ursus in the Land of Fire, a.k.a. Son of Hercules in the Land of Fire) 1963 (starring Ed Fury) Ursus il Gladiatore Rebelle (Ursus, the Rebel Gladiator, a.k.a. The Rebel Gladiators) 1963 (starring Dan Vadis) Ursus, il terrore dei Kirghisi (Ursus, the Terror of the Kirghiz, a.k.a. Hercules, Prisoner of Evil) 1964 (starring Reg Park) Ercole, Sansone, Maciste e Ursus, gli invincibili (Hercules, Samson, Maciste and Ursus: The Invincibles, a.k.a. Samson and the Mighty Challenge, a.k.a. Combate dei gigantes) 1964 (this was a satire/ comedy poking fun at the sword-and-sandal genre, and starred Yan Larvor as Ursus) Gli Invincibili Tre (The Invincible Three, a.k.a. The Three Invincibles, a.k.a. Three Avengers) 1964 (Ursus was the lead hero in this film, played by Alan Steel.)

Coming to theaters November 15. Ford v Ferrari
How many car guys we have here? especially racing. How many know the name Carroll Shelby? The former race car driver hired by Ford Motor Company to build a really fast Mustang, The Shelby Mustang GT500 and GT350 we have to this day.
Synopsis: In the mid 1960's Henry Ford II had a deal on the table to buy Ferrari. The deal as we know would also give Ford the control over Ferrari racing. Enzo Ferrari (founder of Ferrari) didn't want to give up control of Ferrari racing and backed out at the last moment, which infuriated Henry Ford II. Mr. Ford a very determined man decided to beat Ferrari at what they did best by winning the 24 hours of LeMans which Ferrari in those times was the team to beat. Henry told his race engineers to spare NO costs, whatever it takes. In 1966 Henry Ford hired Carroll Shelby a former Le Mans winner to build a car that would not only compete but win the prestigious 24 hrs of Le Mans.
In this Movie Matt Damon plays Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale (Batman) plays Ken Miles the colorful sometimes controversial British driver to drive the car. Rotten tomatoes is giving this movie 88%.

Saw this movie over the weekend and awesome is one word that comes to mind. 5 out 5 Stars IMO. Acting, Matt Damon and Christian Bale were at the top of their game. Bale should be nominated for an oscar.

The Irishman.
Limited theater showings but available thru Netflix. Classic Gangster movie with the usual suspects, De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Harvy Keitel. One of Martin Scorsese's best films. I watched this long but great movie which is based on the mob and Jimmy Hoffa and his mysterious disappearance. If your a fan of gangster movies this is a must see.

Saw this movie last weekend. Very well done. 4.5 stars. Quick synopsis. Set in World War I (The great war) two British soldiers are given the task of breaching the front lines to warn a sister Battalion that the Germans are laying a trap and to halt their coming invasion. The Brits think they have the Germans on the run, but they are laying a trap and two brave soldiers set out to warn them before it's too late. kind of reminds me of Saving Private Ryan only World War 1.
My Grandfather fought in the great war in the trenches of France. He saw the horror and the bloodshed all around him. Mom said he never talked about war that she ever remembers, quite understandable.
