Well, here it becomes crystal clear that "someone" chose the "upper average". When I average 160 kg and 190 kg, I come up with 175 kg or 385.81 pounds - probably the truer average weight of a male Amur tiger. *So, what happens when a 386 pound tiger comes face-to-face against an upper-limit Ussuri brown bear - 440 pounds? IMO - The tiger will not ambush this bear. We have no confirmed account of a tiger ever killing a bear bigger than himself. A tiger always chooses bear prey smaller than himself, usually by at least 100 pounds. If the tiger, in some strange twist of fate, were to find himself standing face-to-face with a moon bear heavier than himself, (imo) the tiger would retreat. I base this on the fact that 9 out of 10 times, a tiger will walk away from a sloth bear only half his own weight.

American Black Bear content.ces.ncsu.edu/black-bear "... males weigh between 130 and 660 pounds. The largest documented black bear was a male bear that was harvested from the coastal plain of North Carolina and weighed 880 pounds." *500 pound Eastern American black bear (a typical weight for this subspecies) vs 386 pound Amur tiger. Realistically, the tiger would not fight this bear. But, for the sake of conversation, we'll say they do fight. End result is one dead tiger. (imo).
