So this is the oldest of the bear species. Like the Ursavus elemensis, it also has a tail.

So this is the oldest of the bear species. Like the Ursavus elemensis, it also has a tail. Cephalogale was not a direct ancestor of the true bears. He was a relative; a member of a side-branch known as the Hemicyonidae ( dog bears ).

I have not studied dog bear that much but they do rival bears in grappling ability. Maybe not as much as pure bears.
