So are you saying if a cheetah was feeding on a kill a clan of hyenas would steer clear of him? Hyenas have been known to drive lions off a kill. Please explain. One spotted hyena could displace a cheetah. According to some reading, the hierarchy goes; lion, hyena, then leopard. ( crocodile evidently excluded ). Packs of African wild dogs actually outrank leopards. One on one a leopard will easily defeat a lone was.

One-on-one, we cannot say with any certainty how a fight would play out that has never been observed. But I would wager on a panda bear against a leopard. Could a group of cheetahs kill a panda bear? To start with, it is my understanding that these cheetah groups are always made up of young siblings. Therefore; little experience. Another problem I have is - how? Exactly how might a cheetah do serious damage to a bear - even this bear which I suspect to be vastly underestimated. Zoo keepers say that a panda bear is strong and can be fierce; just like any other bear.

I recently watched a video of two pandas storming up a tree after a light earthquake in China; they weren't lethargic and slow anymore, they climbed this tree like a regular black bear. One can only guess the full potential of the giant panda in a life-threatening situation but based off his stats, he could deal a lot of damage relative to his size.

Reply 68. If he were a brown bear, the giant panda would be a lot more aggressive and explosive. Sure they will be timid specimens but overall, he will be more offensively aggressive and more active.

You don't know how aggressive and explosive a giant panda might be when the need arises. Read post #69

Climbing to the top of a snowman takes a certain amount of skill.

They are also among the best climbers too. Female pandas do defend their cubs aggressively too. Still, I believe they would be much more aggressive if they were brown.

Good video. The female Cheetah drove off the leopard yes. But look at the uploader's description of the video, it was a young inexperienced leopard. And in the video you can clearly see the cheetah was larger:

Reply #76 - a ( roughly ) 14 seconds video. We neither see the beginning nor the end. What the cause of a confrontation is can have a huge effect on the animal's behavior. Perhaps the leopard was curious about some cheetah cubs. A mother ( most species ) can have some aggressive courage. If this is the case, there was nothing there worth a leopard to fight for. We must remember, a wild animal will usually resist a fight where there is no need. They are not driven by a foolish ego ( as in humans ). As for size; a cheetah is normally taller than a leopard ( long legs ).
