As a child growing-up in the country, I was one of those boys that terrorized his mother by always catching and bringing home "critters". Among the "bug world" I have a few favorites - for no particular reason. Spiders can be really scary for some.

/\ Nice find. Another inspiration for a new fictional story based on spiders.

Small question here. How many insects can a black bear eat before being satisfied?

Small question here. How many insects can a black bear eat before being satisfied? Not enough to challenge a horde of African driver ants or South American army ants.

Tsetse fly – the fly that “gives birth” and feeds her baby “milk”. What does this mean? Well just watch and see! I am hoping to find more documentaries and other things to post about flies looking at the POSITIVES of them, since they are greatly overlooked by only a handful of “harmful” or “gross” species. They are incredible pollinators after all and one of the types of organisms essential to decomposition–call them the “vultures” of the insect world if you will.
