shaggygod.proboards.com/ is now a dead site filled with great information; yet it was left incomplete. Why? I had started several blog sites before Polar helped me with this one. My idea; his work. Now... no more Polar? There were two A.V.A. sites - Animals vs Animals was ( in its time ) the best of its kind.... dominated by a pretty-even mix of lion fans and tiger fans. Animal vs Animal was a similar site dominated by tiger fans. Wild Animal Elite was dominated by lion fans. There were a few others ( can't remember the names )... each dominated by either lion or tiger fans. The topic "Lion vs Tiger" was always the most popular topic in each. My sites ( all dead ), shaggygod, and our new Domain of the Bears stand alone as the bear dominated blog sites. At the A.V.A. and similar; there was never more than a small hand-full of bear enthusiasts. I would love to know what went wrong over at the shaggygod forum...

I am not too sure either. I was a member of that forum for a while until I got caught up in work, travelling, and a social life. I heard from someone that Warsaw forgot his own password. I am not sure what happened to Graaah.

I made two different forums years ago but deleted them because I could not commit. Green Earth Birds is here to stay as a bird encyclopaedic for anyone who wants to learn about birds. I need to make time to update that forum.

It will grow as long as you keep posting information of these pachyderms 😊. There is at least two posters on this forum who are knowledgeable of elepants (you and King Kodiak).

The reason why blogs and forum die: 1)Posters become busy and caught up with everyday issue in real life. 2)Some just get bored and find other interests.

It is not actually dead but it is there are not as much posting as in this forum. When the most recent post was March 18th of 2021, you could pretty much say it's a dead site. Inactivity will kill any site regardless of what the theme is. I think brobear, kodiak, you Green plus a few others here who regularly post is what keeps the Domain of the Bears alive. I can honestly say without you fellas we would have a dead site as well. With so much information already posted here on Bears it gets difficult to create new topics or add to existing topics. Personally... I don't believe you always have to be in debate mode either. I think the face-off topics can be fun providing they are done respectfully even if said animals would never meet in the wild. It spices up things and we can even have some fun with because it's purely opinion based. The Domain has always been a Bear forum first but I think what has allowed us to to stay active is the diversity of our topics. We've added the Great Apes and our General discussion section is quite diverse. Going forward I believe this path is the best way for the Domain to survive. There is simply only so much you can say about Bears without being repetitive.

/\ Very true tom, we have posted most of the information here. It is the forum with variety that remains active and it is not just animal forums, it is fictional forums like Spacebattles that remain active because of a variety of different subjects. One more thing that makes a forum successful: the staff working together like a well oiled machine. The staff here are good at that and so are these at Spacebattles. The only difference: the staff at Spacebattles are not half as friendly.

Domain of the bears is the best. I am saying that it is best not because it is a bear site rather it has other reasons too.
1. Unlike most sites, who just focus on animals killing each other. Our domain also focuses on the animal in myths, culture and etc.
2. The most important topics like tiger vs brown bear in wild, is discussed and ended with good information from experts and reasonable and logical analysis.
3. It is made just for knowledge people, there is no need to be afraid of bad and annoying information made by fanboys.
4. Every type of bear information is divided in respective topics and discussed in detail.
