It has been a long time: many months, since I have posted any quality information. For this I apologize. My living conditions have not been at its best. In time, this will change. Two things are necessary for producing quality posts. Number #1 - BOOKs... by knowledgeable authors. ( this means be willing to spend money ) I suggest Amazon. Number #2 - A place in your home where you have the privacy needed to research and post. Right now I have neither.

/\Honestly Brobear, you opinions are quality information. Thank you brother. When I first entered into the animal face-off debates, I just knew that a bear is stronger than a big cat. I thought that this was common knowledge. I was surprised, to say the least, that the vast majority of people believed that a lion or a tiger could easily take down a grizzly. I tried to debate the issue and learned that my knowledge of animals was far worse than I had known. There is an age-old saying, "War is the Mother of Invention". I began to read; to research. I learned that without any lingering doubts that I had been right all along. Plus... the more I learned about the amazing bears - especially the grizzly - the more I began to love and admire them. My opinions are based on my reading roughly 40 or 50 books on the topic of bears.

Well most mature posters support a larger male brown bear and polar bear over a tiger, lion, and even smilodon. Even at parity, a brown bear still gets my slight vote over all big cats. brobear, do not worry about what anyone says, you are doing well. Fan boys do not meet the criteria to debate us (note: Intelligent enthusiasts are not fanboys - just to avoid any misunderstandings).

On second thought, I might create a thread on this forum 'general section' dedicated to eagles and vultures later on.

On second thought, I might create a thread on this forum 'general section' dedicated to eagles and vultures later on. I would suggest you talk to Tom. We wish to keep the Domain all about bears. You might consider a post in the General section which will advertise GreenEarthBirds.

No worries. I saw a thread dedicated to 'Prehistoric Cats' in the general section plus Tom said he is opening the general section for other topics if not mistaken. Anyway, thinking about it, there is no need to create an eagles vs vultures thread here as it belongs in Green Earth Birds. Everybody here knows my forum.

If you post a topic in General Discussion: Green Earth Birds, then we can discuss birds there - good advertisement for your site. "Prehistoric Cats" gives us information for BEAR vs the various extinct cats.

Anyhow, we not always find new information.

My Plans for the Future As most of you know, I am in high school, to be more precise, in my junior year. At this time of my life, it's best to begin thinking about what you want to do after you graduate. This is my plan so far.
I'll go to Ohio State mansfield campus for basic classes for one year then I'll transfer to the main campus in columbus to go to the zoology department to get my zoology degree. While doing that, I plan working an internship at the columbus zoo to get experience. After I graduate from college, I'll work at the zoo as my life career.

I feel that a good member that would be great for this group would be Warsaw from Carnivora.
