Complete Bullshit. Quote: Fight 1: Parnell Kills Monarch: www.calacademy.org/explore-science/monarch-the-grizzly-bear Once captured, this huge bear lived out his life in a cage. Also, the drawing was actually sketched by an eye-witness reporter of Parnell and Ramadam ( the grizzly ). Quote: Boone acquired an 850-pound California grizzly bear whom he named Siskiyou. He cruelly arranged to pair off the bear with one of his trained lions, Parnell, in what...Parnell up to his old tricks, killed a bear. Note: more crap. I think it's crap too. Isn't the bear up on display somewhere?

Continued... ( quote ): Menelik the lion Kills President the Kodiak bear: *Crap. More sloppy bullshit: Lioness kills bear in roman arena. Note: There exist no record of a lion ever winning a fight against a bear in the ancient Roam arena. Brute, just stay away from this fan-boy site. I never even knew bears even fought in ancient Rome. Is there more information on this topic?

You might as well just close down the whole forum, we have already established that bears whip tigers and lions in face to face confrontations. The newspaper and book accounts show that. I think a large brown bear will wreck a tiger.

This site is much more than a fan-boy-who-can-beat-who-in-a-fight-site. I wish to continue seeking quality information. As for the Russian taiga, there is still much to be learned about tiger/bear relations. Brown bears in the past have lived among both lions and tigers in various locations. We should continue seeking information. The grizzly was once the king of beasts everywhere he lived ( always in the northern hemisphere ). Therefore I find the myths interesting. So much more to be learned! I think the bear is also the king of beasts as well. Who do you think people in Russia respect more the brown bear or the tiger. We already know that native american highly respected bears.

There is also another factor to all of this. I dont know if these fanboys “lie”, i believe that most of these fanboys really believe what they are saying. Thing is most have not done the research to the level of which people like you or me, or Peter have done. Agree alot of fanboys lie and say stupid things like tigers killing adult male bears in face to face battles on a daily basis and we know that this isn't true because tigers mostly kill young bears and sub adults.

Perhaps you guys are trying to figure out why I have made a few changes here. There are two kinds of popular animal blog sites. First, there are the animal face-off sites ( making a re-birth ). I participated during the glory-days of such sites. Those sites are a magnet for fan-boy trash-talk. A really knowledgeable posters will seldom if ever post on such a site. There are now only two highly respected animal blog sites: wildfact.com/forum/ and shaggygod.proboards.com/ The Domain is somewhere in the middle, rather like the much-bigger carnivora.net/ Carnivora has little respect due to such topics as lions or bears against dinosaurs. Ridiculous face-off topics which attract fan-boys. A lot of good information can be found there; but their reputation is shot. I hope to keep this growing site to as high a level as possible.

Brute: What animal faceoff site are you talking about? Kodiak can give you the addresses to them. You guys are free to participate and enjoy arguing aimlessly with fan-boys who will never accept the truth. I'm done. The posters that count, which are those mature, educated, rational, honest guys with some common sense admit to the truth even though most are big cat enthusiasts. So now, when it comes to the big cat vs bear topic - the battle is now pretty much over. But I still want to learn more of what takes place in the natural world.

But as we said before, we love to repeat and repeat.

GUYS... where there is a huge panel of words or words and pictures, and you want to comment, you have no need to punch the quote button and repeat the entire post you are commenting to. Common sense. Also ( I will edit and add ) when you post a short post ( especially one-liners ) then think of something else you wish to say... instead of making another post... do what I just did here.... edit and add. *Take pride in the Domain.

Ok sir....but lately its becoming a little “hard” to comment here at the domain. We cant do this, we cant do that. Edit this, edit that. You get the point? It's all to do with taking a little personal pride in the Domain. The secret is: Think. Example: Kodiak Bears is not a bear vs tiger topic. The mention of Kodiak bears being far too big and strong for a tiger to kill is ok. But you guys just go on-and-on-and-on about it - pointless waste of space and when someone is checking this site out and see this.... it looks like a typical fan-boy site.

Sorry to see that Brute is no longer with us.
Brobear has set the rules. Here is my take and please take it FWIW. The Net is likely loaded with animal face off sites where people can argue back and forth till the cows come home if that is their desire. If the moderators and administrators of those boards don't care about the bickering that goes on then so be it. But.... IMO that is how message boards degrade and eventually degrade to the point that quality posters no longer visit and the site soon dies. As far as the Tiger vs Grizzly subject, it has been beaten to death to the point it is no longer even worth looking at new posts. If someone wants to engage in those arguments then there are likely plenty of those fight club sites to choose from. That being said, I realize that this is "Domain of the Bears" and new topics, discussions etc... about Bear related subjects can at some point run dry as there is already so much posted here already (Thanks to Brobear). On top of all that with so few active members at the Domain it can become "boring" I'll admit, but if Brobear and Polar wish for this board to remain respectable, then we must abide or else.
