We are on the same side kodiak. I do believe that the cave bear is heavier than a polar bear. Well yeah, the cave bears average was about 880 to 1100 for adult males. No much difference though.

The polar bear owes his very existence to the brown bear's dominance among the Carnivora and his peerless survival skills. No big cat ever accomplished this and probably could not have. Indeed. Polar bears were originally brown bears which were seperated from the rest of their kin and over time had to learn to adapt to a more marine and carnivorous lifestyle and eventually polar bears became the way they are because of that. I would say a polar bear can overpower all big cats including a smilodon, a cave lion, and even an american lion.

Polar bear vs siberian tiger is no match at all. Mature male polar bears average about 900 lbs, while mature male siberian tigers average about 400 lbs. less than half. In a face to face fight, the polar wins 90% of the time, and you can bet your life on that.

( bear has half-ton advantage ).

I agree and think the polar bear will win most of the time with a siberian tiger. Tigers don't want to fight face to face.

Even an average male polar bear is outweighs and is more powerful than the largest wild siberian tiger.

To put this topic in a nut-shell, tiger vs polar bear is a mismatch. No contest.

The reason why we never say 100% is because there can always be an accident, thats why. One more thing, as i stated in page 1 of this thread, mature FEMALE polar bears average about 575 lbs, and their max weight is about 700 lbs. guess what? Female polar bears will beat a tiger 6/7 out of 10 times.

Even a female polar bear outweighs a male siberian tiger.

Even a female polar bear outweighs a male siberian tiger. Yeah by about 150 lbs on average. 6/7 out of 10 for the female polar.

We can't just look at weight though. W have to relzie that a tiger is still a dangerous animal. Anything can happen.

Believe this; if anyone was to witness a tiger stalking a polar bear, this would immediately be all over the news. Just doesn't happen.

That is because they live in different habitats but even if their paths overlap, it will be the polar bear usurping tigers from their kills.
