thenormalguy: Nice bro, that's awesome. Am glad they honored that wolf. In that last image, where you can see them sharing, you can see that is a really young grizzly, probably 3 or 4 years old.

Wolf vs Superstition: flashbak.com/revisiting-the-french-werewolf-epidemic-and-the-beast-of-gevaudan-432426/?fbclid=IwAR3HRvx1vrCKVcAJurVNwfBJQsGJykzr0ktEV6KkyXNX6R8ViG1T8fAyK6Y Revisiting the French Werewolf Epidemic and the Beast of Gévaudan The period between roughly 1520 and 1630 saw “France’s version of Europe’s witch trials and executions, but with werewolves. “We have doomed the wolf not for what it is, but for what we deliberately and mistakenly perceive it to be” wrote naturalist Farley Mowat, “the mythologized epitome of a savage ruthless killer – which is, in reality, no more than a reflected image of ourselves.” The fear of wolves in the European psyche dates back over a millennium, during which time wild populations of wolves were slaughtered until the animals had gone all but extinct on the continent by the early 20th century.

Reply 331. That is one huge wolf judging by the size of its paw.

www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/03/210311152727.htm Weakened protections led to more disappearances of endangered Mexican wolves. Mexican wolves in the American Southwest disappeared more quickly during periods of relaxed legal protections, almost certainly succumbing to poaching, according to new research published Wednesday.

I'm not surprised. Once delisted Wisconsin can resume their hunting of wolves. Without a little research I wonder how much pressure was put on by ranchers/farmers to resume a hunting season to lessen the impact on livestock predation. I see the delisting as a temporary enactment. How many wolves killed will it take to re-list them again, that's the million dollar question. They are an important part of the ecosystem. They keep Elk and Deer populations in check. I see the delist / list cycle continuing IMO.

More like this : "Wisconsin Governement Let Hunters another day to hunt [even if the quota was reached already"] Absolutely pathetic move by the gov I know its crazy:
"far exceeding the state’s limit as they scrambled to take advantage of Trump-era wildlife rules that they worry may be tightened by the Biden administration."

WORLD OF PREHISTORIC CREATURES I would like to share an upcoming Premiere. In January analysis of the Dire wolf's DNA reveals that it was only very distantly related to all modern canids and wasn't related to the grey wolf at all. So if the dire wolf wasn't a "wolf", what kind of canid was he and where did he fit in the canid family tree? From Budapest Hungary.

Wolf is the only natural and true enemy of the Brown bear. Tigers are rarely encountered by brown bears and tigers usually flee to their is not competition which does make the tiger as a rival of brown bear.

There are for not exception some cat enthusiasts saying that bears are dominated by wolverines and cougars. But those are just mere folk tales, the only predator that compete with grizzly in the top of food chain is the wolf.

Most male grizzlies are heavier than tigers and lions on average. Therefore, the grizzlies will be the stronger ones.

Note: The wolf would probably represent an average individual from a rather large population (Russia).
