In your guys in opinion what do you think is the most impressive brown bear subspecies? As far as size, muscle and build go. Size, muscle and build wise i don't think there's any question, Kodiak Bear. On average he is the largest of all Brown Bear subspecies. You may have some Katmai Bears along the southern coast that get as large or nearly as large, but on average the Kodiak Bear is the largest.

Reply #22 - I agree 100% with all six and will add: the brown bears who conquered the high arctic roughly 200,000 years ago and hunted seals.

Brown bears just conquer every place where they live (except himalayan brown bear due to black bear). An adult male brown bear is the king of Far East, Middle East, Eurasia, America, Europe, Central Asia and Atlas mountains (when bears where alive over there).
