Good to see the asiatic black bears and sun bears actually cross path in the same habitat. I think there is an account posted on this forum that asiatic black bears prey on sun bears.

I just read through the topic, "Predators of Sun Bears" and found nothing mentioned about black bears. The subject of orangutans was mentioned.

Ok i found the perfect site. These are the interactions between Asiatic black bears and Sun bears. The report is very long, so here is what i think is the most important paragraph.
Coexisting species that share limiting resources compete for those resources. Classical ecological theory predicts that over time, the species that is best able to garner the limiting resources, reduce access to the resources by the other species, or express the highest population growth rate will eventually dominate and drive out the competitors.

Nice Kodiak. So, it isn't a matter of black bears preying upon sun bears but rather strict competition over existing food resources.

Exactly, Nothing is mentioned about black bears preying on sun bears. I have also searched other sites and found nothing either. Does not say which species mostly dominates those resources either. I would guess its the Asiatic black bear just by the sheer size.

I think the asiatic black bear will win by size as well.

My mistake then. However, the asiatic black will win because of its larger size.
