Hard to believe this picture but I guess they came to an understanding. The Bear talking. "I eat first and you can have the leftover scraps and if you give me any lip you ain't gettin nuttin".

I can find no link to this picture other than the one you provided. Someone just posted 2000 pounds in the title on imgur so unverified at this point.

Yeah, i got that from Imgur, that is the only source. We cant verify it but just by looking at that pic, i believe it to be over 1500 lbs easily, they had to use a crane. I should try to research more about it.

It's possible, however you can stage pictures to make things appear larger than they really are. No doubt it's a large Brown Bear though.
Something else odd about that pic. Notice how stiff the body is. The arms should drop limp due to gravity as the bear is lifted, even the head and back legs, but they aren't. Now.... rigor mortis may have set in if the animal had been dead for some time, but I thought it looked a little strange.

Yeah, the source is not the best though, Imgur, that is just an image uploader, its not even a source really.

Like you said, the animal is unusually stiff considering that it's supposed to be dead and hanged. 2. The Bear and the dude do not even look like they belong to the same photo. It looks like someone just badly photoshoped their together 3. The Bear is way too large. It's like the size of a Dinosaur, considering it's supposed to be farther away. There are no mammalian carnivores, living or extinct, of that size ever. Not even those short faced bears are that large. 4. It's even a Brown bear? The fur is somewhat smooth in contrast to that of Brown bears that is usually 'spikier' in appearance. The crest mark on the neck and the shoulder is not what you see in Brown bear. The tongue is far too long and it looks like it belongs to those insectivorous Asian Bears that use their tongue to eat termites. I'll say it's a Sun bear, badly photoshoped into this pic, and then somebody just wrote a story to go with it and then the Internet just did the rest.

Good call guys. Also polar bears too heavy to have been lifted by helicopters have their weights estimated to be 1760 pounds. Therefore, the 2200 pound polar bear's weight is also probably estimated. I was surprise there was actually a Russian brown bear that could weigh 2000 pounds (although they do have the potential to reach that weight without the intervention of man). Has the 2500 pound kodiak bear (named Bart) actually been measured?

Yeah, it was Clyde the bear. According to the zoo director, he weighted about 2400 lbs one year before he died.
