Two pictures I want to share with you today; those are taken from Andreas Kieling's book "The Bear", it was one of my christmas gifts many years ago. Here we can see two old coastal grizzly bears (the specimen in the first picture was estimated to be over 30y old).

Old boars (male bears) are usually more bad tempered than their younger counterparts.

Old boars (male bears) are usually more bad tempered than their younger counterparts. You could say that. It was an old in poor condition male Bear that did in Timothy Treadwell at a time when most Bears were heading to hibernation. This ole boy was thin, probably due to being pushed off all the remaining quality food sources by bigger stronger younger males.

Imagine if he was in his peak. Once again, your post confirms a fat bear to be a healthy bear.

That eastern version of the Kodiak bear looks so muscular.

This photo by Doug Peacock I would wager is his favorite bear which he calls "the black grizzly".

So Doug Peacock loves the Ussuri brown bear more than any other bear. I can’t blame him as my two favourite bears are the polar bear and glacier bear.
