*This is not a wish list for Santa. But rather, what are some of nature's puzzle pieces that are missing that you would like found. As yet unmade discoveries. What I seek which evidently has never been published: a book which could possibly be titled: "The Complete Ursus Arctos". This book ( big, thick and heavy ) could tell it all. Evolution - History - Historical Events - Details on each subspecies - Anatomy - Habits and Personality - Intelligence - Strength - Physical Abilities - Famous and Notorious Bears - and more. *I read this years ago ( pictured ).

I wish there were more videos of Ussuri brown bear interactions with Siberian tigers just as there are videos of lion and hyena interaction. Sadly wildlife in Africa are easier to film than wildlife in Russia.

I wish there were more videos of Ussuri brown bear interactions with Siberian tigers just as there are videos of lion and hyena interaction. Sadly wildlife in Africa are easier to film than wildlife in Russia. People, and I'm referring to professional field biologists spend as much as a full year in the R.F.E. and count themselves lucky to get so much as a fleeting glimpse of a tiger. This is why I know that with such remarks as "brown bears do not displace adult male tigers from a kill" are going strictly according to footprint evidence. Footprints ( when there are any ) cannot tell someone that when the bear arrives, the tiger leaves. You cannot measure minutes or hours on footprints. I had a plan which no one was agreeable with: Set-up several cameras pointing to one location in an area known to contain both a tiger and bears. Place a dead cow centered in this location. Then wait... The concern about this method: we might be causing the death of a rare tiger. My thoughts: if the tiger finds it first; he will promptly leave when a grizzly or large male black bear arrives. If a bear finds it first, we are not likely to see a tiger. We would not be causing anything that doesn't take place regularly anyway. There always have been and always will be squabbles over a carcass in the wilderness. It is said that very rarely does a grizzly challenge a male tiger at a kill site. I say it is extremely rare that a big male tiger attempts to defend his kill; in which case there might be left behind some evidence of a squabble.

This book you want is exactly like "The great bear almanac" it has all what you just named.

Oh, I read that one and The Grizzly Almanac. But no, they are lacking. What I want might actually take a set of books: Volumn 1- The evolution of Ursus arctos. Volumn 2- Ursus arctos in history. Volumn 3- Ursus arctos in myth and legend. Volumn 4- Anatomy of Ursus arctos. Volumn 5- Ursus arctos subspecies. Each book in deep detail. Volumn 4 might include such topics as strength, sense of smell, speed, agility, etc.

Making or obtaining a graphic novel out of this little picture. I have written short story on a petite brown haired girl named Madison who met her boyfriend who has the ability to turn into a 21 foot green cave bear and a giant green lappet faced vulture. That is one wish list.

This is not a wish list for Santa. But rather, what are some of nature's puzzle pieces that are missing that you would like found. As yet unmade discoveries. Here are a few on my wish list: 1- I wish that more fossil remains of Ursus maritimus tyrannus will be found. 2- I wish that more fossil remains of Gigantopithecus blackii will be found. 3- I wish that what goes on around a carcass in the R.F.E. would be caught on camera. 4- I wish that more Pleistocene grizzly fossil remains will be found.

Opening post: my dream book, "The Complete Ursus Arctos" would be not just one but a well thought out series of books. Included would be, "The Historical Ursus Arctos", "Evolution of Ursus Arctos", "Ursus Arctos Inside and Out" ( morphology ), "Physical Abilities of Ursus Arctos" ( strength, speed, stamina, etc ), "Relationship Between Ursus Arctos and Panthera Tigris", "Pleistocene Ursus Arctos", and perhaps more. Contributing would be bear biologists, mammal paleontologists, animal trainers, zoo veterinarians, historians, park rangers, and other experts as needed. It would be a set of from 6 to 10 highly detailed books.

If you could choose an author for this historical series of books, who would you choose (if anyone comes to mind) that would be knowledgeable enough? Or.... maybe a number of authors each with the task of writing based on their own specific expertise? You know... someone with impeccable writings skills could actually put an all encompassing book from the data we've collected here at the Domain. Of course the legalities of using copyrighted material for ones own purpose of creating a book would certainly come into play, especially if you wanted to sell it. But... we do have a lot of stuff here.

Out of 3 wishes i will take only one i.e. i could do or see what ever i want. See the tiger and brown bear interaection. Go back in prehistoric times all see all animals. We see plenty of spotted hyenas interacting with lions, tigers interacting with sloth bears, dholes, and leopards. I wish we could see a real life video of Ussuri brown bear interaction with a Siberian tiger.
