I have made a forum called 'Green Earth Birds' which has been around for several months now. This forum is mainly about birds. To check out the forum, just click my signature. There is a section to post accounts on 'Animal Interactions' which allows valid accounts and opinions without misinformation and pointless debates. brobear is my coadmin and Smedz as well as Grizzlyfan245 are members there too. The reason why my forum is called 'Green Earth Birds' is because it is focus on the discussion on birds (extinct and extant) on earth.

greennature.proboards.com/ Quote: The Seven Species Of New World Vultures The New World Vultures, also known as the condor family, are scavengers who live in the warm, temperate areas of the Americas. *This I did not know.

Unlike old world vultures which are more closely related to birds of prey, old world vultures are more closely related to storks (despite the fact they are now classified as being related to birds of prey). Female old world vultures are slightly larger than their male counterparts while male new world vultures are larger than their female counterparts. The more agile birds of prey are the greater the size difference between the male and female. Female birds of prey (e.g.sparrow hawks) seem to prefer smaller males which makes better hunters and providers and are considered less of a threat to their chicks.

I do still plan on making enough posts to become a moderator. I just had other things interfere.

Lappet faced vulture vs Martial eagle and Eurasian black vulture vs Golden eagle interaction is similar to Bear vs big cat interaction.

The blue jay is the most aggressive of the jay birds and corvids are tough birds for their size.

The golden eagle is not the most powerful bird of prey despite being powerful, it is the most majestic bird of prey and eagle.

The crowned eagle has the most powerful grip pound to pound. Despite being about half the weight of the harpy eagle, it has feet that is almost as large as the larger harpy.

Female birds of prey choose smaller males. This is because the smaller the males are, the better the providers they make and will also be less of a threat to their chicks. This is especially true for birds which hunt live prey such as falcons, hawks, jungle dwelling eagles, etc. Female old world vultures which feed mainly on carcasses select males that are slightly lighter but close to their weight and size.

Vultures are generally underrated in comparison to eagles.

One debate I enjoy is eagle vs vultures. I will take the golden eagle over any vulture anytime anywhere Golden eagles are one of the most widespread bird of prey and are powerful birds. However, in areas where they meet Eurasian black vultures, the latter usurps their kills without resistance. Lappet faced vultures also rob martial eagles of their kills without resistance.
