Kemorde bear - the true white bear, whiter than any polar bear (with translucent or creamy yellow fur).

This bear ( pictured above ) has some scars. Where there are scars, there are untold stories.

That is one large Boar. Hard to judge pictures but I would guess at least 400 lbs maybe more?

This is a BIG bear! Look at the size of the paw he is about to place on the ground as he walks forward. That is one BIG paw. Look at his head. It is BIG -- wide and round. I call him Choppy due to the fact that his right ear appears to be chopped off at the very top. Aside from his slightly damaged ear I think this is one handsome bear -- he has a very good-looking face. But most of all, I love the intensity of his eyes and their deep orange color. I wonder what he thinks as he sees me in the middle of the pathway he is walking. Of course, I have no idea, but I can tell you that when a bear walks in a straight line from Point A to Point B, if there is a smaller bear in his path, he expects him or her to move out of the way -- and they do so gladly and wisely. I am like that smaller bear -- so I gladly and wisely stepped aside well before he reached me. Chopper never slowed or missed a stride. As he passed by, he didn't give me the slightest glance because I acted appropriately. I have learned that if I am in bear country, I need to practice appropriate bear etiquette. If you live in or visit bear country -- you need to do the same please. By doing so, we can all live in harmony -- and that is a worthwhile goal for all of us. www.facebook.com/BillLeaPhotography/photos/a.1486271434975605/2249132995356108/?type=3&theater

Based on the many scars on the face of this surprisingly shy timid bear, I can only guess he might not be so shy when around SOME bears. Last year I named this bear "Warrior" due to the many injuries he has obviously sustained during past battles. I think it is safe to assume that these many remnant claw marks on his face were received during conflicts with other males for breeding rights. How can a bear be so apparently shy and timid most of the time and yet willing to battle other males over females at other times? Could all the scars be the result of just one battle? Was he the instigator or was it more a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time? I have never seen Warrior act aggressively towards any other bear. It is just hard for me to imagine this bear behave any other way than being a low-key, non-confrontational bear - but his face indicates otherwise. I always seem to have so many more questions than I have answers. There is one thing I do know: I LIKE THIS SHY, BATTLE-SCARRED BEAR. I am heading out to Yosemite National Park on Tuesday morning for my first visit ever, so I will not be posting for the next few weeks. More bear stories to continue when I return home - the Good Lord willing. Take care, Bill www.facebook.com/BillLeaPhotography/photos/a.1486271434975605/2137572476512161/?type=3&theater

Big bons from ava did say that large male black bears tend to get bolder and more confrontational than the average black bear or this bear could be just more combative than I previousely thought although it is nowhere near as aggressive as a brown bear.

I am sorry to hear that. He is knows all about the size of bear skulls etc. Brutestrength, Big Bons is the resident bear expert on bears and a well known poster on the ava forum. More pictures of glacier bears:

I like the colour of its silvery blue fur too. The glacier bear actually has more blue on its fur than the tibetan blue bear in my opinion.
