Post #20 as seen completed on topic: My Opening Introduction to the Mighty Grizzly. Yes, I would love to own this. Probably just about at parity with a live European Steppe Bear. Notice the smaller replica behind him?

Might be nice to have at the entrance to your drive with a sign that says "Beware of Bear" followed by "Trespass at your own risk".

By the way, the home that is in front of my home has 2 medium sized lion sculptures at the entrance. One day they will appear in pieces.

This sucks because the bear should be the winner instead of the loser. If we use a bear over 900 pound then any bull should be defeated unless Im wrong.

Imagine if a bear was to be that size though? Pleistocene bears might have reached that size being much bigger than the modern days bears in general.

The only bear that could have reached that statue’s size is the short faced bear, which had very long legs. The tallest specimens went up to 11-12 feet tall.

that statue is every bit 12ft. tall. I think Brobear said that statue might be at parity with the Steppe Bear.

Cave bear (Ursus spelaeus) by Papo The cave bear (Ursus spelaeus) was a species of bear that lived in Europe and Asia during the Pleistocene and became extinct about 24,000 years ago. Both the word "cave" and the scientific name spelaeus are used because fossils of this species were mostly found in caves. This reflects the views of experts that cave bears may have spent more time in caves than the brown bear, which uses caves only for hibernation.

Bears in art - fine art - not cartoons and teddy bears. This realistic bear getting carved out of a tree trunk is so detailed!
