Short but interesting video concerning lions and crocodiles in one part of Africa, the person talking is a safari guide, so he sees a lot of things there where they happen.

I don´t know if this has been shared here before, but what a majestic lion, this could be straight from Disney´s Lion King. Handsome lion looking to be in great shape and that lion attitude coming through... not loud, but in very clear way.

This isn´t a video, but one great photo of one lion, who truly claimed the title King of the Beasts in his unique way He lived in Oasis for the Siberian tigers and when he had no lions as "roommates", he made his coalition and pride from tigers. Sometimes one photo tells more than thousand words... as staff from this place told, Samko didn´t want to freeze his "royal ass" Here is rough translation from text concerning this photo by zoo staff (This lion is called either Samko or Samka in texts): Memories of Samka🦁💔🐾 You can´t help but smile for this photo ☺️In the winter you used to make your striped roommates as "couches" 😹🙈 Especially Balu - he tolerated it patiently, because what he wouldn't do for a friend 😸🦁🐯🐾💞 Have a nice day 🙌🏼🍀 Ps. Original language is Slovak and it doesn´t translate just like that in google translator in perfect way. That "You can´t help but smile for this photo" might should have been translated "You couldn´t smile in the photo" like talking to Samko... whatever is right translation for that part, just brilliant photo, imo

Tribute video for the lion in my earlier posting, Samko. While there are many opinions about captivity, at least it´s comforting to know that in some places people without any doubt do their best to give them as good life as they can. This video and kind of obituary for Samko clearly show that he was loved and cared by people around him. I translated text as good as I could and it took some time. It´s tricky when translators aren´t perfect, so it takes some time to understand what writer has meant. I dare to say, that I managed to get quite close to what Slovak text is. If here is someone who is more familiar with that language, feel free to comment. But now this tribute video from 2014. Notice his gaze, good photos in the end of this video, that gaze for sure didn´t invite anyone to mess with him..... Here what was written: Dear friends, supporters, grief and sad events don't stop us in Oaza more painful when one of its permanent residents leaves us unexpectedly.. With great sadness and pain in our heart, we want to inform you that our beloved lion Samko has left behind the rainbow bridge. Samko underwent a surgery due to obstruction and inflammation of the intestines at the veterinary clinic in Trnava. The surgery went well, unfortunately, his heart failed when transporting back. Samko - our shining star among all striped friends, was very special from the beginning and very spoiled Lion King. Human mom Miska gave him lots of love, time, attention and always made sure that Saminko had enough play, fun, and program and he enthusiastically took care for her love and caring - as only lions know. He was a great "footballer" since he was little, he liked to chase the ball, what he didn´t leave until adulthood. Nina was the first tiger friend, at that time also a young lady, who took Samka under her paws and lived together in the same room, they wandered and fooled around together, they huddled each others and they had a lot of fun together. Balu and Becky, tiger siblings, later added to them, with whom they quickly made friends and then created an invincible creature in which Samko had a firm place. As they grew together, there was a place of the leader, as a lion it belonged to him, what you saw especially during the feeding, when he defended food so eagerly, that he looked very threatening, but without his innate instinct (kicking in) he was a great and good man, he knew how to happily cuddle , love, and he liked to be scratched, especially in winter he used his tiger gang as "warmers" and he liked to sit on them so that he did wouldn´t have to freeze his "gentleman´s" ass Many of us would be able to remember all possible smiling accidents and experiences that Samko and I experienced - he brought us good luck, joy, positive energy and beautiful memories. It´s difficult to deal with and we will all miss him very much, his warm welcome, every time he heard the sound of a known car, voice, his voice, his snuggle, his roguish expressions and the pieces he performed. It´s always very painful for us, when we care with love for residents of Oaza, when some of our members leave, it´s as if it was someone from the family, but for me it´s very personal, all the more painful, that Samko was the first youngster whom I met in Oasis and had the opportunity to raise him, watch him grow and experience many unforgettable moments with him. I´m extremely grateful for this and will always have it in my heart. I believe that we did our best in Oaza for his peaceful, happy life with us - now Samko - the star of us, you are already shining behind the rainbow bridge and together with tiger friends, you are watching over us. Miska and team Oazy

Some think, that male lions are a bit clumsy... when watching 3:07-3:14 it can be seen, that it´s a relative thing to talk about. Crocodile gave some motivation for this lion to show agility Quite a jump from that situation.

To continue with crocodiles and lions. This video doesn´t have so much action. Male lion see the crocodile with carcass and in the end of the video it can be seen and heard how he calls for his brothers. This description of the video is interesting:
"Crocodile killed a buffalo calf male lion(scarnose of Majingilane coalition) considered stealing the carcass but couldn't brave swimming past the crocodile to get to carcass. Watch the crocodile pushes the carcass to the deeper and more the centre of dam. The lion left eventually but the next morning we found him and the his two brothers feeding on the buffalo, some how they managed to get the carcass over the night."

Again lion crocodile theme. It would be nice to find original source for this video with better description. But this lion don´t mind going in the water. I don´t know if there is some kind of tug war with crocodile or is that carcass just stuck in the water, shaking camera doesn´t help to get too good idea about what happens there. Still that lion goes submerged when trying to get that carcass for himself and if there is crocodile, hats off for this lion. While it´s said, that lions don´t like water/swim, it´s obviously not too big factor for some of them.

Yeah, very poor camera quality. Looks to me like a crocodile probably took the carcass and the lion decided that he was not in the best place to challenge the big reptile.

This video has some good growling, when lion is angry/aggressive.
Here is full story what happened:
LIONS interrupt mans morning coffee routine FULL STORY
Let's hear from Dylan Panos himself:
WHAT IS BHEJANE NATURE TRAINING? We are a Nature Guide Training company, and we train students to become professionally qualified Nature Guides, Trails Guides, and Marine Guides in Southern Africa. We offer the well-known FGASA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa) set of qualifications.
Interview with Dylan Panos:
What were your initial thoughts when you woke up to find the lions? Did the noise wake you or did you walk into the kitchen and notice them?
We woke up early in the morning with a group of 8 lions moving through camp. They were very vocal, so we were all well aware of their presence just outside our tents. The students were all safely escorted to the Game Viewing vehicle to drive around camp and to see the lions. The lions moved through the camp ( we also have footage of this if needed), and once they moved to behind the Kitchen building we could no longer see them. Dylan at this point moved around to the kitchen to see where they went while the students were still safe with instructor Emilio van Dyk in the vehicle. As he approached the building he saw the male through the mesh covering and realized that the female was lying just below the wall close to the building as well.
Were you frightened? Please elaborate on why or why not.
I was not frightened - I am after all trained to live and work around these animals, but I was very cautious – one would never approach mating lions since they are prone to showing aggression – however, we did want to encourage them to move off for the safety of the camp and to gain access to the kitchen obviously.
Some comments on Facebook indicate the windows are only covered in wire mesh no glass is that correct? Is there a special reason for this?
Yes, it is an open building as you will see in some of the other clips – there are no doors and the windows have only mesh covering. This is just because it is a rustic bush camp and we try to make do with minimum infrastructure there. We are all aware that the camp is open and everyone knows to be on guard and have good situational awareness at all times – this is after all what the students are training for, to be able to take their guests eventually into unspoiled wild areas – so to know how to do this safely, they must be able to live in such open camps, and know how to behave if an animal encounter does occur.
Did you get your coffee lol?! Yes – definitely got a nice cup of coffee!!
Here is longer video showing better what kind of place and text above is from description of this video:

I start my mornings off with coffee. I'd hate to think that there might be lions between myself and the coffee...
