10 million years of evolution aimed at producing the perfect land-based ambush predator. And when they ambush and kill herbivores much bigger and stronger than themselves, people call them cowards. Wild beasts do not win metals and ribbons for bravery. Neither do they have hospitals and doctors to tend their injuries. To call a cougar, a leopard, a tiger, or any other big cat a coward is to compare them unfairly to humans. ( IMHO ).

Yeah, but the problem is that cougars (and all cats), also ambush animals their size and even smaller. Bro getting so triggered by the instincts of wild animals as though a cougar should unlearn the way it’s been hunting since existence to show that it’s “tough” hahahah. Did a big cat bully you or something in high school? Lmao, of course a cougar can’t kill a grizzly bear 5x its size, that makes no sense. If a Cougar was the size of a bear it would kill bears for pleasure. Big cats are superior to every other carnivore in almost every aspect except for brute strength (bears).

Quote; 10 million years of evolution aimed at producing the perfect land-based ambush predator. Welcome to the Domain killafox. I've been arguing this point for years. And actually, we can make that roughly 20 million years of perfecting the world's greatest land-based ambush predator of large herbivores. Cats are not cowards. They are ambush predators. They have specific highly refined killing methods. But, before a cat can make a kill, first he has to make body contact with his chosen prey. Posters talk as if an ungulate is simply going to stand still while the big cat casually strolls up to him. Life isn't that simple. Also note, in a face-to-face fight, even should the big cat win the battle, the big cat might receive some serious injuries, which could lead to starvation. So no, cats are not cowards.
