Umm nah I dont know about this interaction so I want to ask or know What questions do you want to ask? The barren ground grizzly bear is am offensively aggressive bear despite the fact it is among the smallest of the brown bear subspecies and also the among the smallest of the grizzly subspecies. I also suggest reading the info posted on this thread.

These yellowish white bear lacks the heart of the little critter: the barren ground grizzly. This I have to admit.

Call me crazy. Call me biased. But my nickel is on the grizzly. Of course; this fight might go either way. I'm keeping myself on a nickel-limit here.

Like he said he's biased and is only betting a nickel on the Grizzly because that's his favorite. But brobear likes all Bears in reality.

The weight and size difference is too great between a 1100 lb polar bear and a 850 lb grizzly. The polar would win more often than not.

Quote: a ~270lbs Asian black bear (85cm at the shoulders) taking on a 240lbs spectacled bear (80cm at the shoulders): *I'm not sure, but I get the feeling that an Andean bear is simply not all-that in a fight. I could be wrong, but I'd wager on the black bear. Quote: He is just joking guys, ha ha ha.... *No, actually I am dead serious. Dispite the size/weight difference, I believe the grizzly would go in like a wolverine and overwhelm the polar bear with aggression. Again; I could be wrong.

I agree with this.
We are talking about an actual fight, and in a fight, the polar bear would be just as aggressive. The polar has a 250 lb weight advantage and will most likely be stronger. Also, the polar has a 10cm at shoulder height advantage. The polar has also a higher bite force. Common brobear?

And as if that was not enough, the polar bear has a lower PC2 value on its front limbs, Polar Bear: -7.999, Brown Bear: -7.045, this means it would be the better grappler.

And as if that was not enough, the polar bear has a lower PC2 value on its frontlimbs....Polar Bear: -7.999, Brown Bear: -7.045, this means it would be the better grappler. Back when I was in elementary school; two boys get into a fight, the teachers did not break it up. I suppose they figured it was a part of growing-up. A learning experience. Learn to get along because there will not always be someone there to rescue you. I learned quick. 3 years in the Marines and 3 years in the Army. I saw lots of fights; was in a few. I know first-hand; size matters, but the big guy does not always win. I simply believe that the grizzly is more of a scrapper than the bigger polar bear. But, like I mentioned, I could be wrong.

You know at weight parity i damn sure favour my Kodiak bear over a polar bear, but a 250 lb weight difference is too much. Dont get me wrong, the smaller grizzly could win some fights, but not more often than not.

That's OK guys, and I never expected anyone to agree with my assessment. One thing I'll bet we can agree on though. The winner is not likely to walk away from this fight without some battle-scars to show off to his friends.

Here is a comparison between a ~300lbs Ussuri black bear (90cm at the shoulders) and an ~850lbs Svalbard polar bear (125cm at the shoulders):
My dime is on the polar bears.

Get ready for my best comparison so far; as hardrobin1212 requested a Kodiak bear/polar bear comparison, therefore I decided to compare the two at weight parity. T his is a comparison between an 850lbs coastal grizzly/Kodiak bear and an 850lbs Svalbard polar bear:
My dime is on the Kodiak brown bear.

My dime is on the Kodiak brown bear. At parity I would also say the kodiak just because it has a more thick/robust build, but at average weights I would favour the polar bear because it is a much better hunter, with more experience.

@hardrobin1212 I'll do a lot of them including Southern elephant seals, I've just started out. This is the battle of the titans, my friends, a Davis Strait polar bear (1100lbs, 140cm at the shoulders) taking on a peninsular grizzly (850lbs, 130cm at the shoulders):
Polar Bear, the largest living bear vs a huge Brown Bear.... Just to set the record straight, ( IMHO ) at weight-parity ( yes weight-parity is cool with bear vs bear ) I would wager on the brown bear. But a full-size polar bear is definitely ( IMHO ) the king of the bears. Several years back, my opinion was different; but we learn and we grow wiser.
