Gaint Panda
The giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca; Chinese: 大熊猫; pinyin: dàxióngmāo), also known as the panda bear or simply the panda, is a bear native to south central China. It is characterised by large, black patches around its eyes, over the ears, and across its round body. The name "giant panda" is sometimes used to distinguish it from the red panda, a neighboring musteloid. Though it belongs to the order Carnivora, the giant panda is a folivore, with bamboo shoots and leaves making up more than 99% of its diet. Giant pandas in the wild will occasionally eat other grasses, wild tubers, or even meat in the form of birds, rodents, or carrion. In captivity, they may receive honey, eggs, fish, yams, shrub leaves, oranges, or bananas along with specially prepared food.
The giant panda has luxuriant black-and-white fur. Adults measure around 1.2 to 1.9 metres (3 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 3 inches) long, including a tail of about 10–15 cm (4–6 in), and 60 to 90 cm (24 to 35 in) tall at the shoulder. Males can weigh up to 160 kg (350 lb). Females (generally 10–20% smaller than males)can weigh as little as 70 kg (150 lb), but can also weigh up to 125 kg (276 lb. The average weight for adults is 100 to 115 kg (220 to 254 lb).
The giant panda has a body shape typical of bears. It has black fur on its ears, eye patches, muzzle, legs, arms and shoulders. The rest of the animal's coat is white. Although scientists do not know why these unusual bears are black and white, speculation suggests that the bold colouring provides effective camouflage in their shade-dappled snowy and rocky habitat, and that their eye patches might facilitate them identifying one another. The giant panda's thick, wooly coat keeps it warm in the cool forests of its habitat.[40] The panda's skull shape is typical of durophagous carnivorans. It has evolved from previous ancestors to exhibit larger molars with increased complexity and expanded temporal fossa.[43][44] A 110.45 kg (243.5 lb) giant panda has a 3D canine teeth bite force of 2603.47 newtons and bite force quotient of 292.[citation needed] Another study had a 117.5 kg (259 lb) giant panda bite of 1298.9 newtons (BFQ 151.4) at canine teeth and 1815.9 newtons (BFQ 141.8) at carnassial teeth.
The giant panda is a terrestrial animal and primarily spends its life roaming and feeding in the bamboo forests of the Qinling Mountains and in the hilly province of Sichuan.Giant pandas are generally solitary. Each adult has a defined territory and a female is not tolerant of other females in her territory.
Although adult giant pandas have few natural predators other than humans, young cubs are vulnerable to attacks by snow leopards, yellow-throated martens, eagles, feral dogs, and the Asian black bear. Sub-adults weighing up to 50 kg (110 lb) may be vulnerable to predation by leopards.

From Wiki: The fur is thick with hairs between 5 and 12 cm (2.0 and 4.7 in) long. Its body is stocky, short-legged, and slightly smaller than the other cats of the genus Panthera, reaching a shoulder height of 56 cm (22 in), and ranging in head to body size from 75 to 150 cm (30 to 59 in). Its tail is 80 to 105 cm (31 to 41 in) long. It weighs between 22 and 55 kg (49 and 121 lb), with an occasional large male reaching 75 kg (165 lb). Females (generally 10–20% smaller than males)[37] can weigh as little as 70 kg (150 lb), but can also weigh up to 125 kg (276 lb). The average weight for adults is 100 to 115 kg (220 to 254 lb). *The giant panda is easily double the weight of the snow leopard. I'm not sure about the panda bear's fighting ability, but he has the size and strength advantage.

Snow leopard
The snow leopard (Panthera uncia), also known as the ounce, is a large cat native to the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia. It is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List because the global population is estimated to number less than 10,000 mature individuals and is expected to decline about 10% by 2040. It is threatened by poaching and habitat destruction following infrastructural developments. It inhabits alpine and subalpine zones at elevations from 3,000 to 4,500 m (9,800 to 14,800 ft), ranging from eastern Afghanistan, northern Pakistan the Himalayas and the Tibetan Plateau, to southern Siberia, Mongolia, and western China. In the countries in the northern part of its range, it also lives at lower elevations.
The snow leopard's fur is whitish to gray with black spots on head and neck, but larger rosettes on the back, flanks and bushy tail. The belly is whitish. Its eyes are pale green or grey in color. Its muzzle is short and its forehead domed. Its nasal cavities are large. The fur is thick with hairs between 5 and 12 cm (2.0 and 4.7 in) long. It weighs between 22 and 55 kg (49 and 121 lb), with an occasional large male reaching 75 kg (165 lb), and small female of under 25 kg (55 lb). Its canine teeth are 28.6 mm (1.13 in) long and are more slender than those of the other Panthera species. In relation to the length of its skull and width of its palate, it has large nasal openings, which allow for increasing the volume of air inhaled with each breath, and at the same time for warming and humidifying cold dry air. However a 2015 study found no evidence for "biochemical adaptation to high-altitude hypoxia".
The snow leopard is a carnivore and actively hunts its prey. It is an opportunistic hunter and also eats carrion. Its preferred wild prey species are Himalayan blue sheep (Pseudois nayaur), Himalayan tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus), argali (Ovis ammon), markhor (Capra falconeri) and wild goat (C. aegagrus). It also preys on domestic livestock. It prefers prey ranging in weight from 36 to 76 kg (79 to 168 lb), but also hunts smaller mammals such as marmot, pika and vole species. The diet of the snow leopard varies across its range and with the time of year, and depends on prey availability. In the Himalayas, it preys mostly on Himalayan blue sheep and Siberian ibex (Capra sibirica). In the Karakoram, Tian Shan, Altai and Mongolia's Tost Mountains, its main prey consists of Siberian ibex, Thorold's deer (Cervus albirostris), Siberian roe deer (Capreolus pygargus) and argali. Other species hunted when available include red panda, wild boar, langur monkey, snow cock and chukar partridge.

Gaint Panda can beat the cat 9/10 because:-
1. Like other cats, the snow leopard is not face on fighter. 2. Although the panda is gentle byt donot forget that it is also a bear who has size and strength. 3. No record of adult panda being preyed by the cat shows that leopards donot try to mess ans avoid these gentle gaints.

No records of either animal killing each other. A snow leopard might be able to kill a subadult but a full grown adult would probably be immune to attacks.

Well, judging from all the general info that we have on giant pandas, they average around somewhere from 220-250 lbs. Snow leopards average around 100 lbs. No records of snow leopards killing male pandas, even if they were to exist, it would be by ambush. In a face to face fight, i will give this to the giant panda 8/9 out of 10 fights.

What is this matchup?panda claps.I would favour the snow leopard at parity because it would be more agile and durable.

By parity; are you meaning equal in head-and-body length or equal in weight? Equal in weight. Big problem there. This would be full-grown snow leopard vs giant panda cub.

Big problem there. This would be full-grown snow leopard vs giant panda cub. True. We don’t live in a weight parity world. An exceptionally large male snow leopard at 175 pounds might overlap in weight with a sub adult giant panda or be slightly smaller.

What, in your opinion, are the limitations of the giant panda, Ailuropoda melanoleuca ? A full-grown male giant panda can weigh up to 350-pounds, which is heavier than a pantanal jaguar. Although we have no information concerning the giant panda's physical abilities nor any history of these bears fighting predators, we do know that snow leopards strictly avoid adult giant pandas. So, how would a big male giant panda fair against a: 1- cougar? 2- leopard? 3- jaguar?

Giant panda will beat most big cats. A huge male Jaguar might be a good match up and might even win. But when it comes to male vs male, the giant panda has my vote.

Giant pandas regularly fight with each other for mating rights and bamboo places (the stronger males have access to sites with greater bamboo density); experienced males have bruises and scars all over their face. Those conflicts can be pretty brutal:
"During mating season, males fight for mates and better territories (Schaller et al. 1985; Hu 2001). We observed that when they fight, they bite their opponent’s neck and face, locking teeth and throwing their heads back and forth. Such behavior can result in canine tooth fracture and maxilla or mandibular fractures (Fig. 1D, E). . ."
Male giant pandas are more or less undocumented on video and only very few people have access to watching them. In media they are portrayed as cute and cuddly animals but we are not talking about captive/docile zoo pandas in this case. They fight just like any other bear in order to survive.

Wild giant panda fight. Can't see much. Rather than stand apart swatting at each other, these guys keep it at close-quarters... wrestling, clawing, and biting. Like all bear species, bears wrestle from early cubhood.

Yes, including the Pantanal jaguar. The giant panda is a bear, although the most primitive of all living species. But, he is a bear. He is stronger and heavier than a jaguar. He is a better grappler. His bite force should be pretty near equal (possibly stronger). Being a bear, he should have superior grappling ability. Yes, my dime is on the bear.
