So here is a very good one, it fits the daily news... Murder Hornets!!!from left to right: Asian Giant Hornet (Vespa mandarinia, worker, 37.5mm in length) - European Hornet (Vespa crabro, worker, 25mm in length) - Japense Hornet (Vespa simillima xanthoptera, worker, 20mm in length)

An interesting fact: The smallest hornet on the right (subspecies of the Japanese hornet) actually is the most aggressive out of the three. Maybe the barren ground grizzly among all hornets...

The Wallace giant bee is also called the carpenter bee if not mistaken. www.globalwildlife.org/blog/rediscovering-wallaces-giant-bee-in-search-of-raja-ofu-the-king-of-bees/ I first heard the name Alfred Russel Wallace sometime in the early 2000s in an essay by science writer David Quammen. Prior to that, as with so many people, I had never heard of this scruffy, determined insect collector who also happened to co-develop the theory of evolution with Charles Darwin. As Anthony Kuhn put it on NPR’s Morning Edition: “He helped discover evolution, and then became extinct.”

Interesting video; and if anyone could find a green ant - you can. Ants are also one of the few animals that will fight to death.
